After the recent successful launch of Shri Ramayana Express, IRCTC is not planning to rest on his laurels. According to reports, India may expect more such trains to come up in the near future. The Indian Railways is thus looking to include all religions with such trains.
Its first stop was at Ayodhya, following which it went to Hanuman Garhi Ramkot and Kanak Bhawan Temple. It then went into the Ramayana circuit – Nandigram, Sitamarhi, Janakpuri, Varanasi, Prayad, Shringverpur, Chitrakoot, Nasik, Hampi, and Rameshwaram. There is also the Sri Lanka leg of the Ramayana Express, and people interested in this one would need to reach Colombo by flight from Chennai.
In fact, IRCTC already has plans for trains for Sufi circuit, and also one for Amritsar. Furthermore, IRCTC is already running trains for the Buddhist Circuit, which is a great gift for travellers from South East Asia. IRCTC is also planning to start a train service for Kumbha, and a Jain circuit too.
