Little India (also known as Brickfields) lures you with its distinct noisy chatter, brightly-coloured houses, aroma of sandalwood and Indian film music playing in virtually every store. This small neighbourhood is located south of the city centre and is marked by countless rows of street vendors selling everything from fresh fruits, groceries, jewellery to embroidered textiles. The winding alleys here teem with restaurants offering delectable Indian fare (famous for its spicy curries). Walk through the old houses and pick up some of the famous Indian spices as you explore this lively place on foot. Much like home, don’t think twice before bargaining.
