The Racha Islands, also known as the Raya Islands are essentially a mecca for water sports enthusiasts with their excellent diving and snorkelling opportunities. Located some 12 km away from the southern coast of Phuket, the Racha Yai Island in particular is rapidly transforming into a luxury resort for those who can afford the good life. The most notable name is the 5 star property called, no prizes for guessing, The Racha. Racha Noi, on the other hand, is 10 km away and is truly deserted as it has nothing in terms of accommodation. In fact, it does not even have any locals who call it home. While Noi is surpassingly beautiful given its emerald waters, it mostly has rocks instead of sand and is therefore not the best place for swimming. You could indulge in a long session of fishing instead. If you wish to go as far as possible from the hustle and bustle of Phuket, the Racha Islands are waiting for you with open arms.
