Located just about 17 mi. from the city, the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area offers a break from the city and gives you a chance to grab some epic photos of towering red cliffs and a variety of wildlife. It is a scenic 13-mi. loop drive that one takes to experience this beauty. You need to plan before taking it up as this area receives more than 1.2 million visitors a year. Some of the most notable sights for clicking photographs are the Keystone Thrust Fault where grey limestone and red sandstone create a stunning contrast as well as the waterfalls that can only be reached by hiking. If you do have the time and are in shape, hiking some of the trails here are definitely recommend, which range from easy moderate loops with information panels to strenuous climbs that require scrambling over rocks. Check in at the visitors’ centre where you can grab guides and maps as well as learn about the history of the area through a variety of exhibits. If you want to learn more about the history of the land and experience some of the prettiest nature in Las Vegas, it is here you should head to.
