Lying on the banks of the Ichamati River, on the India-Bangladesh border, Taki is the perfect place if you are looking for an escape from the hustle bustle of city life. The Ichamati River overlooking Bangladesh is the main attraction of the area. An imaginary line between the river, divides the waters of India and Bangladesh.
The best way to explore Taki is on foot. Explore the entire area as you walk along, soak yourself in the aura of rural Bengal. Pay homage at the Kuleshwari Kali Temple and the Jora Shiv Mandir (the temple is said to be nearly 300 years’ old) and take a ferry ride to the Machranga Dweep (literally translates as Kingfisher Island in English). Observe the setting sun across the Ichamati, see tourists from across the border or spend a relaxing evening.
