Any top-notch old-school bar starts with experienced bartenders who won't flinch if you order a Sidecar or a Manhattan. The Driskill is no exception: its lively crew of bartenders have been working there for 20 years or more. The crowd is always a fascinating mix of visitors and locals, ranging from Hollywood celebrities and business moguls to Japanese tourists and salespeople from Houston.
The decor is fancy and fun at the same time, including lamps made from pistols at the semi-circular bar and chairs covered in spotted cowhide. Couples can sink into big leather couches, while lone travelers mingle around the piano.
