Located inside the famous Dusit Thani Hotel in popular Silom, Benjarong is another key figure in Bangkok’s dining landscape. Located inside the famous Dusit Thani Hotel in popular Silom, Benjarong is another key figure in Bangkok’s dining landscape. Over 2 decades old, the establishment has recently undergone a shift in direction to reinvent itself under the guidance of chef Morten Nielsen. Although the Denmark-born Nielson was trained in molecular gastronomy, he’s chosen to stick with perfecting the basics of Thai cuisine in Benjarong’s latest incarnation. While its revival has been somewhat controversial, the restaurant’s main demographic won’t take issue with the shift. With prices around 1,100 THB for a short four-course meal, visitors to Benjarong can continue to enjoy quality ingredients in an elite ambience. Keep in mind that the restaurant takes an intentionally different approach to dining than somewhere like the trendier Eat Me. Benjarong appeals to guests looking for a traditionally elegant dining experience within equally impressive hotel surroundings. Understandably, many patrons are those already staying at Dusit Thani Hotel. Authentic Thai food reigns here—just be sure to ask for no spicy if you’re sensitive to chili!
