Just outside Melbourne, in the Mornington Peninsula, is located Heronswood Gardens. This also serves as the location of the Diggers’ Club, a haven for enthusiasts who claim to have a green-thumb and share a common passion for gardening. Located on a slightly elevated land with spectacular views of the sea, there are flower, fruit and vegetable patches that run up and down the slopes. Especially mesmerizing is its unique variety of heirloom tomatoes. Against this backdrop of flowers and vegetables and the sea in the distance, is a lovely stone edifice standing in the centre. You could choose to stay in the café or lounge out in the gardens. Coffee is served in a bright but mismatched cup and saucer set and comes with that most English of things―fluffy scones with clotted cream and blueberry jam, the stuff of pure and complete bliss!
