One of the latest cafes to emerge on the Landour scene, ‘Landour Bake House’, stands out for its classic art deco charm. Located near Sisters’ Bazaar, the café is a perfect fit to the serene environs. The interiors are done to replicate a typical 19th century kitchen meant for baking a variety of products. The menu features classics from the ‘The Landour Cookbook’ and the commitment to Landour culinary tradition is evident in every baked dish meant to represent an authentic slice of Landour’s culinary history. The menu comprises largely of fresh breads, cakes, pastries, muffins, tarts and assorted cookies. For some wholesome food, they have tandoor chicken croissant, which is very popular, and for vegetarians, paneer tikka croissant is a decent option. They also serve delicious crepes and toasty. Their coffee menu is fabulous, as is the artwork adorning the walls in the glorious old-fashioned setting.
For tea lovers, here is a place to have your traditional English tea in style. If tea and coffee is not to your liking, then go for Hot Chocolate. You will simply relish it. If you want a tastefully done corner, away from the humdrum, there is nowhere better. Worth a visit just for the beautiful decor and freshly baked Landour goodies. Do not forget to carry your favourite book, it can uplift your visit to this charming cafe.
