This restaurant is best described as having a west coast vibe, featuring a large selection of seafood, steak, game and pasta; which means you better come hungry when you visit this place. The restaurant is named after the infamous bandit Joaquin Mirrieta, whose sense of adventure and passion for life led him to become a legend in a land of cruelty and lawlessness. He was known as the “Robin Hood of El Dorado” and this restaurant continues to raise their glass and toast this elusive legend, hence the name. Located in the walls of the Alberta Hotel building, the atmosphere is dark but welcoming with dark wood walls. The wine list is among one of the best in the city, with a focus on Pacific Rim wines. Expect to have your choice of B.C King Salmon, Duck Breast, incredible 28 aged Alberta Reserve Angus Beef and more. Reservations are not required, although recommended. There are events that take place here throughout the year, make sure to take advantage of the $5 happy hour!
