Tamarind Springs' secluded location on the edge of a large forest reserve makes it feel like a tropical hideout—even if the bustle of KL is a mere 15 minutes' drive away. Everything about the place screams romance, from the candlelit path leading to the main restaurant to the ornate Indochinese sculptures and the sounds of wildlife emanating from the jungle.
The food is fragrant and colourful, with a good selection of dishes from Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam. The khmer stir-fried crab is busting with flavour, while the Phnom Penh wagyu beef lok lak, seasoned with lime and black pepper, packs a punch.
