For the short time this eatery has been open, it has managed to make it into the Michelin books with a two star rating. Its organic, locally sourced and 100 percent natural ethos makes it a pioneer in the Norweigan gastronomic scene, and provides an unusual, seasonally changing menu that features herbs and berries long-forgotten by most chefs in the country.
Suffice to say, Maaemo is not for the frugal. Their nine course pairing menu (the only option) will set you back NOK 1250, plus drinks pairings. Naturally, the quality, concept and presentation of their dishes is consistently exceptional.
