With a focus on preserving and highlighting traditional Lanna (northern Thai) culture and wellness practices, Fah Lanna Spa and Massage is a true escape in the center of the city. Carefully chosen details; from lotus or jasmine blossom on the tea tray to traditional artifacts used to decorate each treatment room and emphasis on nature, the experience here is beautiful. The spa grounds are filled with vibrant green and all teas, and oils and scrubs are made using local ingredients. Naturally, the massages and treatments here are excellent as well. With a highly-trained staff of 40 masseuses, you know the level of service you’ll get here is something special. Try an hour-long Thai massage followed by an herbal compress or tok sen massage. After the regular Thai massage, the soothing heated herbs or the expertly placed taps of the tok sen mallet reach the areas of your body you need work on, leaving you fully loosened up, relaxed and rejuvenated. Once you get all the kinks worked out, enjoy a refreshing beverage at the spa’s newly opened cafe, Fahtara Coffee, right next door. Massages and coffee are two of Chiang Mai’s specialties.
