Watching a statue come to life and wrap one of their arms around your shoulder can be extremely horrifying. However, in cities like Prague, that is not the case. Smeared and clothed in golden and silver from top to bottom, these ‘living statues’ can be incredibly deceptive. Lurking in the inconspicuous corners of places like Old Town, you’d have to be very close to them in order to realise that they are actual human beings. Read less

Watching a statue come to life and wrap one of their arms around your shoulder can be extremely horrifying. However, in cities like Prague, that is not the case. Smeared and clothed in golden and silver from top to bottom, these ‘living statues’ can be incredibly deceptive. Lurking in the inconspicuous corners of places like Old Town, you’d have to be very close to them in order to realise that they are actual human beings. Their ability to hold a pose for hours altogether is commendable and if you are a perpetually oblivious soul, you will, no matter what, be scared out of your wits by their sudden movement. Some nod while the others wink and some go all out to hug you when you are most unaware.
