What is the Digi Yatra app?
A statement released by the government read, "DIAL had installed the required facility at Terminal 3 of Delhi Airport and already conducted its DigiYatra trials. Nearly 20,000 passengers had the seamless and secured travel experience after using the facility during the trials".
As of now, the first phase of the app will be implemented in Varanasi and Bengaluru this month along with five other airports namely Pune, Vijayawada, Kolkata, Delhi, and Hyderabad.
Benefits of using Digi Yatra app?
1) Contactless and paperless entry.
2) No ID or boarding pass required at every checkpoint.
3) Very less human involvement.
4) Less wait time
5) The app will map the passenger with the PNR, enhancing security.
6) Only legitimate passengers will be allowed to enter.
7) The airport operator will have real-time access to data on passenger volume.
