The Uttarakhand state government announced the dates on the day of Mahashivaratri, and added that the doors of the holy shrine of Kedarnath and Badrinath will be opened on April 25 and April 27 respectively. Also, the portals of Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham will be opened on April 22 as per the tradition.
As reported earlier, the Uttarakhand government has issued new directions for the Char Dham Yatra for this year, and added that all pilgrims visiting Uttarakhand for the Char Dham Yatra will need to undergo mandatory registration.
The region is expecting more pilgrims this year for the Char Dham Yatra. However, strict measures have been put into place to ensure all domestic and international pilgrims have gone through the compulsory registration process. It’s to be noted that no one will be allowed to travel without the compulsory registration.
Now, as per the latest news reports, the tourism department has already started registration for Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham. As of now, as many as 4.17 lakh pilgrims have registered for the yatra; the portals of Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham will be opened for devotees on the day of Akshaya Tritiya this year.
For the convenience of the devotees, the tourism department has started an online registration system, which will let travellers easily register themselves.
