Word to the wise: Many downtown hotels operate courtesy shuttle buses to and from the airport, so do check with your hotel ahead of time.
The best way to get to downtown Vancouver from the airport is by SkyTrain. It's a 30-minute journey on the Canada Line (with stops en route), running every seven minutes during peak times and every 15 minutes during off-peak times. The station is situated between the international and domestic terminals, and tickets are available from vending machines and ticket booths. A single fare ticket into Downtown is valid for 90 minutes from purchase, and is interchangeable between services, so if you need to transfer to another SkyTrain, SeaBus or bus to reach your hotel, it won't cost you extra.

There is a also private, downtown shuttle service to/from from the airport available during the day, and a night bus (#N10) that connects with Richmond and downtown. The only other way into the city is by yellow taxi, available from ranks outside the terminal, and costing around CAD 30.
