In personal life Sourav was a good student and he is extremely well-read. He is always eager to learn new things and stays updated about the world. Many a times, when the contestants are hesitant to reply or give a wrong answer to the question, host Sourav can be seen telling the correct answer directly looking at the camera without taking a cue from the answer card kept in his hands.

Sourav is known for his sense of humour. His spot-on answers and witty one-liners have made the quiz show more interesting. He leaves the audience floored with his witty comments. Every time, there is a reference of his wife Dona, Sourav addresses her as ‘Madam’. Once a contestant asked Dada whether he has any crush, Sourav immediately replied ‘Nana Madam khub bhalo’. All of them spoke about their love for Dada on the show. In fact, Harbhajan turned emotional while sharing how Dada, as a captain, gave him the opportunity to play.
