Oidrila Sen-Vikram Chatterjee to Rahul Banerjee-Rooqma Ray: Hit reel jodis who recreated their magic on small screen more than once

Bengali television viewers have seen many reel couples whose chemistry was an instant hit. Be it Ujaan and Hiya’s cute bond, Dushtu-Raja’s adorable moments or Raja-Mampi’s sizzling chemistry; there are a number of on-screen pairs whose love story managed to woo the viewers. While fans showered love on them making the show a hit, these pairs forced the makers to cast in a new show as a pair. Some jodis managed to receive the same amount of love from the audience (in terms of TRP) in the second inning while some shows couldn’t live up to the expectation. Here’s a quick look… (Photo: Facebook)

Rishi Kaushik-Aparajita

Aparajita and Rishi's pair is probably one of the most popular jodis that made the audience fall in love with their sweet love story in TV show ‘Ekhane Akash Neel’ (the first season). The show was an instant hit making the pair the most celebrated jodi on Bengali small screen. Interestingly, when the new season starring Sean Banerjee and Anamika Chakraborty was launched, many drew a comparison between the two seasons. Rishi and Aparajita teamed up yet again in ‘Kusum Dola’ although it was a triangular love story with Aparajita playing a negative role. Madhumita Sarcar played Rishi’s reel wife in the popular show. But audiences were thrilled to see Rishi-Aparajita together yet again. (Photo: Facebook)

Sandipta Sen-Rahul Arunoday Banerjee

‘Tumi Asbe Bole’ tasted massive success on Bengali television making Sandipta-Rahul one of the most sought-after jodis. Rumours were also rife that the duo started dating, however, the actors denied it and claimed to be friends. They again teamed up for TV show, ‘Aay Khuku Aay’ but unfortunately, the show couldn’t match up with the expectation and went off-air sooner than expected. (Photo: Facebook)

Oindrila Sen and Vikram Chatterjee

TV show 'Saat Pake Bandha' was an instant hit; thanks to protagonists Dushtu and Raja’s sizzling chemistry. After 7 years makers roped in Vikram and Oindrila yet again for ‘Phagun Bou’ and the duo recreated their magic again on the small screen. (Photo: Facebook)

Jeetu Kamal and Tumpa

First in ‘Raage Anuraagey’ and then ‘Rangiye Diye Jao’, Bengali TV viewers saw these two actors as a pair on television. Their crackling chemistry became a talking point among the audience. (Photo: Facebook)

Neel Bhattacharya and Tiyasha Lepcha

Krishnakoli’s hit pair inspired the makers to cast them yet again in the new show ‘Bangla Medium’. Fans are eager to see them yet again recreating the magic on-screen. Tiyasha made her debut with 'Krishnakoli'. Neel and her reel chemistry turned out to be an instant hit and prompted the makers to launch it in other languages including Telugu (Krishna Tulasi ), Kannada (Krishna Sundari) and Bhojpuri (Shyam Tulasi). Vikram Chatterjee-Solanki Roy

Fans fell in love seeing the duo on-screen. Ichche Nodee’s success prompted the makers to rope in Solanki for ‘Phagun Bou’ for a special role. But this time, Vikram was paired opposite Oindrila while Solanki played a doctor who was in love with male protagonist Roddur and helped him get better. Fans simply fell in love seeing the duo together. Vikram and Solanki yet again teamed up for movie ‘Shohorer Ushnotomo Diney’. (Photo: Facebook)

Rahul Arunoday Banerjee-Rooqma Ray

Desher Maati had an ensemble cast but Mampi and Raja’s pairing managed to catch the attention of the audience. Their chemistry was so good that makers chose them as the lead cast in ‘Lal Kuthi’. While the show couldn’t manage to cast its spell on TRP charts, Rahul-Rooqma’s jodi yet again impressed the audience. Fans can’t help but go gaga over this pair every time they are seen together. In fact, many of their fans wanted the duo to be a real-life couple. (Photo: Facebook)

Rudrajit Mukherjee-Promita

Rudrajit and Promita first paired up for fantasy drama ‘Saat Bhai Champa’ which turned out to be quite popular. The reel-life couple, who got married in real life, teamed up again in ‘Pilu’.
