Elvis Duran shares his One set 'Rule' for fulfilling his dream of playing a dead body on Law & Order: SVU
Elvis Duran, a radio host, got his dream of playing a corpse on Law & Order: SVU on one condition: no nipples.
Duran, the long-running host of iHeartMedia's Elvis Duran and the Morning Show, revealed on The Tonight Show Monday that he will appear in an episode of the long-running NBC series in 2021.
The star revealed that it was "always a dream of mine to be dead on this show," but he had a major stipulation in agreeing to be on camera.
"There was a rule I had. "I said, 'You've got to bring the blanket above the nipples,'" he told Jimmy Fallon, the host. "I had a nipple clause."
Duran, 59, played Paul Landry in the episode "Trick-Rolled at the Moulin," in which he appeared briefly in a morgue scene with star Mariska Hargitay.
He said that while hair and makeup took two and a half hours, he enjoyed his time on set because the crew made him laugh.
"The people who did the makeup, they were kind of funny," he said. "'You should have arrived yesterday. We had to do a girl who fell 45 stories from a bridge.' I’m like, what did that look like?”
Duran also joked that despite having no lines, he found the role difficult.
"You have to hold your breath," he instructed. "And they kept fumbling their lines. So I'd say, 'Damn it!' It was strange because they had to make my extremities blue, and it was strange. I'm not sure. I'll never do it again."
Acting as a corpse on true crime shows is a surprisingly sought-after gig for celebrities. In a 2014 episode of SVU, Questlove played a dead body, while Taylor Swift played a murder victim in a 2009 episode of CSI.
