Joseph Duggar’s sister-in-law, Anna Duggar, reaches out after arrest, offers support and advice: ‘Don’t talk about anything legal unless…’

Apart from Kendra Duggar, Joseph Duggar relied on one more woman from his family during his 10-day solitary confinement at the Washington County Detention Facility.

As per reports, Joseph’s sister-in-law, Anna Dugar, was the first family member to reach out to Joseph following his arrest. Anna is the wife of Joseph Duggar's older brother, Joshua Duggar, who spent time at the same detention facility following his own arrest back in 2021, as he faced criminal charges involving alleged underage victims.

Anna Duggar lends a helping hand to Joseph Duggar

According to People, Anna was the first family member to reach out to Joseph following his arrest, writing a lengthy email on March 21, three days after he was booked into custody. Anna began her email, “Hey Joseph! Bro, you’ve got our prayers. We love you, however we can help, please let us know.” She went on to tell Joseph that she has "put some money" on his books, allowing him to buy items at the commissary and pay for outgoing calls to Kendra. Anna then offered to help set up these calls if he needed help before giving him the rundown on life in jail.

Anna Duggar advises Joseph not to say anything legal without an attorney

Anna Duggar also advised Joseph to be careful about what he says during the jail calls and not say anything legal unless “you are with an attorney.” She noted that everything said in those messages, phone calls, and video chats are recorded and turned over to prosecutors.”

She then noted that "Joshua‘s experience there at Washington County was fairly safe," but urged Joseph to contact her "if there are any concerns for your health, or safety."

To close out the email, she spoke about how strong and loving Kendra is.

Jail calls between Kendra and Joseph, obtained by the aforementioned outlet, also reveal Kendra showed gratitude for Anna following her arrest, with her telling her husband how the two had been in contact.
