Amaal Mallik takes an indirect dig at Bollywood on Laughter Chefs set; says, ‘1951 se grandfather ki legacy hai’

Amaal Mallik won many hearts with his bold personality on Bigg Boss 19. The singer is now set to make a special appearance on Laughter Chefs 3. He was recently spotted on the sets of the reality show, where he took an indirect dig at Bollywood. He expressed how he wishes to do good projects or else is okay not taking up work.

Speaking to the paps at Laughter Chefs, the singer was seen saying, “Jab gaana karega Armaan Malik ya Amaal Mallik ya humari family, 1951 se grandfather ki legacy hai. Hum aise hi koi bakwas remix karne nahi aaye hain, aur remix karenge toh ‘Bhola Bhala’ aisa karenge jaisa maine kiya hai. Nahi toh nahi karna. Upar wale ne kaafi diya hai, jo ho raha hai udhar se ho raha hai, maa-baap ke wajah se ho raha hai.”



He further added, “Unka sar nahi jhukane aaya hoon main, so understand aisa artist hoon main. Jisko mere saath problem hai, lage raho. Kaam karna hai toh banda hai, upar wale ke level ka kaam karna hai. Ek gaana 100 ke barabar nahi hai toh mujhe neend nahi aati. Mauka acha hoga, niyat achi hogi insaano ki, banda haazir hai, nahi toh f**k it.”

English translation: When Armaan Malik, Amaal Mallik, or anyone from our family makes music, it’s a legacy that goes back to our grandfather since 1951. We’re not here to create random, meaningless remixes. And even if we do a remix, it will be done properly, like the way I did ‘Bhola Bhala.’ Otherwise, we’d rather not do it at all.

God has already given us a lot. Whatever is happening is happening because of Him and because of our parents. I’m not here to let their heads bow down in shame. So understand the kind of artist I am; if you have a problem with me, that’s on you.

If you want to work with me, I’m here, but the work has to be of a certain standard, almost at a divine level. If one song doesn’t feel like it’s worth a hundred, I can’t even sleep. If the opportunity is right and people have the right intentions, I’m available. Otherwise, forget it.
