The wedding season is over for now and it's that time when everybody is looking forward to partying and holidaying. While everyone gets going to celebrate Christmas and New Year, the rapid spread in Omicron cases seems to dampen the party spirit. The television industry has also got affected by the same. Over the past week, popular celebs tested positive for COVID-19. Amidst all the hype about celebrations, quite a lot has happened in the TV world. Here’s a look at all the big happenings in the telly land:

Popular TV actors Arjun Bijlani and Nakuul Mehta tested positive for COVID-19 amidst the ongoing scare of the third wave. The rapidly increasing cases in Mumbai seem to have affected the TV industry too. Their positive reports have created fear for everyone they were in contact with for the past few days. While Arjun was busy shooting for India’s Got Talent, Nakuul was shooting for Bade Acche Lagte Hain 2. Both the actors took to their social media handle to inform everyone about testing positive for the virus and hoped to get well soon.

Things seem to have turned sour between Karan Kundrra and Tejasswi Prakash, who were growing closer in the Bigg Boss 15 house. The last few episodes saw major differences rise between the couple over tasks and equations in the show. They have been seen questioning each other’s feelings for each other and having some major trust issues too. Their differences have even left them in a miserable state, making everyone witness their emotional breakdowns.

After congratulating Ankita Lokhande on beginning a new journey with Vicky Jain, her ex-boyfriend Sushant Singh Rajput’s sister Shweta Singh Kirti wished the actress on her 37th birthday. She posted an old picture with Ankita along with a birthday note. It read, “A very happy birthday to the sweetest girl I know…. I hope you get every happiness in life…coz you deserve them! Sending loads of love and prayers your way #HappyBirthdayAnkita (sic).”

Rakhi Sawant’s husband Ritesh Singh got evicted from Bigg Boss 15 in the last WKV episode. He was surrounded by controversies owing to his viral picutres with first wife Snigdha Priya and son, and her allegations against him. Ritesh was accused of faking being an NRI, marriage with Rakhi, domestic violence and a lot more. After coming out from the BB house, he joined ETimes TV and spoke about everything in detail in a long conversation. As he gave reply with every allegation levelled against him by Snigdha Priya, Ritesh showed his passport to prove his side. During the interview, Ritesh accused his first wife of eloping with a man twice and questioned why she wants to be with him if she claims that he is a bad person. Going ahead, Ritesh accepted not being legally married to Rakhi and alleged that he would get married to her in 2022. “ I want to get married to Rakhi with all pomp and fanfare and want to have a lavish wedding. If everything settles down soon and falls into place we would tie the know soon maybe my next year. Our plan is to have a legal marriage. 2022 will be our year.”

Being a celebrity comes with its own cons, one of which is facing people’s opinions and negativity. Actress Chhavi Mittal was recently trolled for wearing a nosepin. She posted a picture and was called ‘regressive’ for sporting a nose pin in it. A user commented on her picture, “Why Chhavi is wearing a nose ring, it looks regressive. Modern women should discard such regressive practice and set examples. They should promote modern thinking. Does men wear. Otherwise she is just fashionable.” The actress took note of this and came up with a befitting reply. She shared a screenshot of the comment and wrote, “Regressive, is not fashion and jewellery... regressive is this kind of thinking. Could somebody explain to me how the comparison to men was drawn for wearing a nosepin?”

Meanwhile, Urfi Javed, who is often at the receiving end for her fashion statements once again faced lewd comments for her dressing. After her choice of clothes was questioned another time this week, Urfi made a post and gave an apt reply to everyone who trolls her. Sharing a video on her Instagram, the actress wrote, “Bhaad me jaye duniya, Akele khelegi Muniya!”

Shehnaaz Gill took the limelight once again this week after she massively trended on Twitter for featuring in the poster of a renowned international show. She shared the poster on her social media handles with an interesting caption that read “Asli Big Boss toh yahaan hai”. Fans were not only surprised to see her on the poster but celebrated her achievement too. They once again made her trend on Twitter. For the unversed, Shehnaaz won’t be a part of the web series and has only featured on the poster to revisit the popular series of 2021. Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Sonu Sood and a few more artists have been added to the series' posters.

Indian Idol 12 fame Sayli Kamble recently got engaged to boyfriend Dhawal in a dreamy engagement ceremony. Several pictures of the couple from the ring ceremony floated around on social media. Her fellow contestants in the reality show Nihal Tauro, Anjali Gaikwad and a few others attended her engagement ceremony. TV actor Mohit Malik recently joined ETimes TV for an exclusive interview for the Tellyblazer segment. The actor spoke about his journey as an actor, his relationship with his wife Addite, becoming a father and more. He shared, “My journey has been a roller coaster ride and it has really taught me. I was doing two shows for a production house when I came to Bombay and suddenly a big production house offered me a show and they told me that they wanted to sign me exclusively and asked me to leave everything else. I did that and after a month I got to know that the show is not happening and I've left the other shows also. This was one of those incidents and I was really heartbroken. I lost out on those two shows too.”

Sometime back a shocking incident took place in the Bigg Boss 15 house. Abhijeet Bichukale asked Devoleena Bhattacharjee for a kiss during a task, making her feel uncomfortable. This became a huge issue in the house and amongst fans too. While everyone expected host Salman Khan to speak on the matter and take strict action, his reaction came as a shock for everyone. The actor suggested that Devoleena should have maintained a distance from Bichukale at first and even questioned her late reaction to his request. Meanwhile, proclaiming that the latter was only joking and just got carried away. This didn’t go down well with Devoleena’s fans and a few other avid followers of the show. They took to Twitter to express disappointment with Salman’s opinion and called him a ‘misogynist’. Netizens trended ‘Shame on Salman Khan’ on Twitter.

Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah fame Nidhi Bhanushali recently joined ETimes TV for an interview for its Telly Stars Talk segment. The actress got candid about her career, bold dressing, relationship with Rishi Arora and a lot more. While talking about her bond with Rishi, Nidhi stated that she doesn’t want to give a label to their relationship. “He is my friend. He is many things. He is my best friend. He is my work partner. He is my partner in many ways,” she said. Further going on, Nidhi added, “To begin with, compatibility is important. I am so compatible with Rishi. I can share my entire life with him. I don't have to put a label on it (our bonding).”
