Bigg Boss 11 winner Shilpa Shinde supports Mika Singh

Bigg Boss 11 winner and Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hain fame, Shilpa Shinde doesn't mince words. Known for being vocal and speaking her mind, the actress has slammed the federations AICWA and FWICE for threatening to ban Mika Singh after he performed in Karachi at the wedding of a close relative of Pakistan’s former President, Pervez Musharraf. Take a look at her strong statements. By: Vijaya Tiwari

‘You should feel proud of Mika Singh’

I think rather than criticising you should be proud of the fact that Mika Singh has been called to perform there despite of them having good singers and musicians. If our government is giving him visa who is federation to stop him from performing in Pakistan. How can they stop him? I would like to tell the federation that you have much bigger problems in the industry to deal with, please try and solve them. You haven't been able to put a regulation on working hours of artists and crew members. People still work for 12-15 hours when in your rule book it says 8 hours shift. We are bringing shame to our own artistes by commenting about them. Photo: Instagram

‘You are abusing a person who has entertained us so much’

I think he must have been pressurised to apologise. See, when I quit Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hain even I was asked to apologise and comeback but I did not do as I never cared about my career. I didn't even worry if I would get work after it or not. But everyone's case is different. He must be under pressure and that's the reason he apologised. None of us have heard the apology who knows what is the truth (laughs)... A person who has entertained you so much you are abusing and trolling him. Photo: Instagram

‘Priyanka Chopra has brought fame to our country’

Shilpa reacts on Pakistan demanding UNICEF to drop actress Priyanka Chopra as an ambassador. She says, “Haven't we criticised Priyanka Chopra when she went to Hollywood. We also wrote and said nasty things about her even without thinking that she is bringing fame to the country. Priyanka is a star and she has UN's support, she does not need to worry. If someone sitting in Pakistan is saying something rubbish, they are losers. Let them bark if they want to.” Photo: Instagram

‘We start hating Pakistan as per our convenience’

You should also think that we are not going to Pakistan everyday for work. Their artistes are coming here. We were the ones who gave work to Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan. Don't we have good looking men and women in our country? But Shah Rukh Khan took Mahira in his film, why don't we have good heroines in our country. I don't understand this hypocrisy we start hating Pakistan as per our convenience. Why don't we understand it was once a part of India. Even people there want peace and harmony. Nobody wants war. When Sushma Swaraj ji was alive didn't she help people in Pakistan. She did everything possible to make sure that the boy gets top class medical facility. Why can't we forget hatred and talk about.

‘I will perform on road if they ban me’

I am an artist, my job is to entertain people, if tomorrow federation decides to ban me. I will perform on road, let me see how will they stop me. If this federation people think that they banned me from working in the industry then they are wrong. It is my choice to not take up work or daily soap right now. Don't people from India go and work in countries like England, despite knowing they treated us like slaves we Indians go there to work and contribute to their economy but that’s considered as an achievement. ‘Do I need to say Pakistan Murdabad to show my love for country?’

I have hundred different ways to entertain people and with so many platforms today I can do that. Who are these federation people to stop me or any artiste. Do I need to say Pakistan murdabad to show my love for country. How can anyone else decide if I love my country on not. If I stop performing in Pakistan or start saying bad things about them then I will become patriotic. What kind of logic is this? If you really want to show the love for your country go and join arm forces. Photo: Instagram

‘I was threatened of getting raped’

When the last time I spoke in favour of Navjot Singh Sindhu, I was bashed on social media and was threatened that they will rape me. I am challenging you, come and show me your real face and don't hide behind these faceless names on social media. What wrong did that man say, (Navjot Singh Sindhu). He just said that he wants peace between both the nations. What wrong did he say? They sacked him from the show just to boost their egos. What difference did it make to Sidhu ji's life. Did he stop getting food. No. His life is still going smooth and normal. Please go and enroll in army if you really want war. I know they will never do it. If even a war-like situation arises these people will be the first ones to sh** in their pants. They don't understand how much hatred they are spreading by doing such thing. Even people here especially Muslims have started feeling threatened. They feel 'humare desh mein hum hi safe nahi'... Photo: Instagram

‘People can stand in a queue for hours to shop, but not 2 mins for National anthem’

Today, people even have a problem to stand for National anthem. Tell them about a sale they will go running and will stand in a queue for hours for it, but they have a problem standing two minutes for our National anthem. Our soldiers give life to safeguard us, can't we do this much. Standing for National anthem means giving respect or remembering the people who have sacrificed their lives for us. Like during Pitra Paksha we Hindus pay homage to our ancestors. Similarly, every time we stand for the National anthem we pay respect to them. But we have become so modernised and we are running behind western culture to such an extent that we don't believe in such things. There are so many countries who print undergarments of flags and even wear them, will we also start doing it? Photo: Instagram

‘We have forgotten our roots’

Today, web-series, films made in India are full of sex scenes or shows women wearing literally no clothes. British ruled and treated us like slaves and what we are doing aping them. They make bold scenes we also want to do the same and we have forgotten our roots. We are making our women wear less clothes. Do we have dearth of good subjects? Photo: Instagram
