Bigg Boss 19’s Amaal Mallik reveals having ‘45 stitches on his face’; says, ‘I’ve been at a war with myself since I was 5’
Amaal Mallik won many hearts with his time on the reality show Bigg Boss 19. He recently appeared on a podcast with Pinkvilla, where he spoke about his journey, injuries, bond with his father, and much more. The reality show star and singer shared how he has had 45 stitches on his face.
He shared, “I’ve not gotten surgery done, but I have 45 stitches here. I have a right dislocated shoulder, I have fractured my left hand, sab kuch hai. The nose is broken. But I’m like the Terminator, I get up every time and like the dum-dum-dum. Aaj kaam karenge. Yeh sab chal raha hai, aur music ka alag se. So it’s always been the mind strength ki nahi, kar lenge. But now I need to slowly, slowly fix and work on these things. But there are good ways also, like the technology and the science have also moved ahead.”
Amaal further said, “There are good knee braces for me to perform at shows. Nahi toh mera whole knee would just rotate and come off. It happened even when I was doing the finale performance. There’s a song I did, if you all saw. There’s a shot at the grand finale. I had to go and turn like this and sit on that chair or something. When I turned in, my knee came out and it was hanging. So there are physical things that need to be fixed. But I have not done it for a long time. Tab paise nahi the, ab time nahi hai. How do I explain this? The surgeries were expensive.”
Talking about his face surgery, he said, “To do my face surgery, I had to take a loan of Rs 5 lakh just to do a maxillofacial surgery. If you search, a dentist comes and fixes all. My right-side skull broke. I’ll show you. I don’t have that phone. If someone can get a phone, I’ll show it to you. So all these things hote hote maine kaam kiya hai. 12th standard ke exam mein my whole face was broken, and I was still writing, taking 3–4 hours. I kept my eyes open through a device like that and wrote the papers. So I have faced a lot of physical struggles, emotional struggles. That’s where all the music also comes from. Yeh sab mere saath bahut jaldi hua, and I am grateful.”
“Now I am just refixing this. You should know what the problem is. Abhi mujhe problem pata hai. Khud ko time dena hai, khud ke health ka dhyan dena hai. Baaki music is beautifully flowing, and I think that will always happen. If I do not take care of myself, then phir I will get spent, which I have already—35 years mein got spent. I think I have been in a war since the age of 5. You should take rest,” Amaal then said.
