Dipika Kakar celebrates 8th wedding anniversary with Shoaib Ibrahim amid new health scare; says, 'While dealing with cancer, recurrence brings many thoughts about family, kids'

Dipika Kakar, who battled liver cancer last year and underwent surgery, is once again facing a health setback. Recently, Shoaib Ibrahim shared that the actress has now developed a cyst in her liver and will soon be hospitalised for another surgery. Amidst this health scare, the couple chose to keep their 8th wedding anniversary celebration low-key. In her vlog, Dipika spoke about her health update while also mentioning her anniversary. She said, “A small cyst has come back. It is 1.3 cm, which is 13 mm, in my liver. I have been having slight stomach pain for the past two days, along with shoulder pain. Since I had similar pain earlier, we got a little scared and immediately called Dr. Somnath and went for a check-up. The CT scan showed that a small cyst is growing again. When we did the PET scan in December, it wasn’t there. So whatever has developed, has happened in the last two months.” Dipika visited the hospital on February 21 and underwent several tests to determine the cause of her stomach pain. Shoaib shared in his vlog, "Today was another hospital visit. Everything seemed fine until yesterday. We had gone to Akram’s house, and she had been having stomach pain for the past two days. Last night, the pain worsened, so we went to the doctor. He advised a CT scan. The scan showed a small cyst — about 1.3 cm. She added, “Now that it has appeared, it will have to be removed. We cannot leave it like this. The doctor has asked me to come on Monday for the procedure. We don’t know yet whether the cyst is benign or malignant, but the doctor doesn’t want to take any risk. No doctor or patient would want to. So we will treat it the way we treated the previous tumour. I was on targeted therapy earlier, but now the doctor is planning to put me on immunotherapy.” (Photo: Dipika Kakar vlog)

Dipika called the phase an emotional day and urged everyone to pray for her. she said, “Today has been a heavy day for me. For anyone dealing with cancer, there is always a chance of recurrence. She spoke about her anniversary celebrations, “Tomorrow is our anniversary. I had thought we would celebrate and do something special. But I’m not sure if that will happen now because the pain gets worse when I wake up. It began on a happy note as we were preparing for Ramzan. Then we went to the hospital for a check-up and found out about the cyst. After that, I was in a lot of pain and there was so much anxiety. Talking about her anniversary, she said, “Today is our anniversary. Saba brought a cake for us and Rinku also sent one. Our kids were around us, and that made the atmosphere light, cheerful, and full of love.” Shoaib added, "Life is such that there are days which are very happy and there are days which don’t go as we planned.
