Erica Fernandes to Shilpa Shinde; TV actresses who exited their shows after a fallout with the makers

Erica Fernandes, who was a part of Kuch Rang Pyaar Ke Aise Bhi through all its seasons, recently opened up about her differences with the makers of the show. However, this is not the first time that an actor/actress has had a fallout with the produces. Disha Vakani, Hina Khan, Shilpa Shinde and many others have been there. Check out the list here:

Erica Fernandes and Shaheer Sheikh starrer Kuch Rang Pyaar Ke Aise Bhi 3 has wrapped up in a matter of a few months. Ahead of its shutdown, the actress took to her Instagram handle and shared a note thanking fans for their love and slammed the makers too. Though she didn’t reveal the reasons behind her fallout with the makers, her note made it evident that not everything wasn't fine between them. Erica talked about prioritising herself respect, called out the hypocrisy of the makers to blame her for the not so successful season and questioned the weak portrayal of her character. The actress also asked fans to remember her character, Sonakshi, from the first and second season instead of the third one. A part of her note read, “Ever thought? When a show is successful it is very easy and convenient to say that the success of the show is not because of a particular individual but because of teamwork and the entire team's effort.. but it is so easy to blame a particular individual when a show has to shut! Anushka Sen’s exit from Apna Time Bhi Aayega was a controversial one. The actress exited the show only after 18 episodes and reasoned her health to be an issue. However, the makers cited her unprofessionalism as the reason for replacing her. Speaking about her exit from the show, its producer said, “We could have tolerated her tantrums, as long as it wasn’t hampering the show. However, not turning up for the shoot amounted to unprofessionalism and we decided to bring in a new actress for the part finally.” (Pic: Instagram)

Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’s Dayaben aka Disha Vakani has been missing from the show for a long time now. The actress, who took a maternity leave from the show hasn’t returned since years now. Though fans have been asking the makers to bring her back, producer Asit Modi has time and again said that they are working on something. Earlier in a few interviews, he had stated that they cannot keep waiting for her and it’s high time that she informs the makers about her decision. (Pic: Instagram)

Hina Khan, who essayed Akshara in Yeh Rishta Kya Khelata Hai and was a part of the show for eight long years, exited the show on a bitter note with the makers. Her reported tiff with producer Rajan Shahi grabbed eyeballs after he commented about the growth in TRPs of the show post her exit. This didn’t go well with the actress, who questioned, “Why was he quiet when we were part of the show for eight long years? During that time, he went on record to praise both of us for our dedication and professionalism. Despite the work pressure, disagreements and other work opportunities, we continued to stay loyal to the show and supported the producer.” (Pic: Instagram)

Shilpa Shinde, who garnered immense love and fame as Angoori Bhabi exited Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain after a fallout with the makers. The actress accused the producers of mentally torturing her and was in a legal battle with them too. She called the producer Binaifer a ‘tyrant’ and also made serious charges of sexual harassment against Sanjay Kohli (husband of producer Binaifer Kohli).

Later, Shilpa once again got involved in a tiff with the makers of Gangs Of Filmistaan. She levelled some serious charges against the producers, which included extending work hours, exploiting the artists, not giving the script and flouting the COVID-19 guidelines. Talking about the same in an exclusive interview with ETimes TV, the actress said, “We have been shooting from seven in the morning to eleven in the night. I don't know where these association people are. Why don't they notice this.? How artists are being exploited? They are always there to sabotage someone's image, but when we are working for 12 hours and more, nobody is raising a question. We were told that we will shoot for the show only twice in a week but we are shooting everyday.” (Pic: Instagram)

Rajshree Thakur, who made a return to TV with Shaadi Mubarak quit the show citing creative differences with the producers. The actress stated that it was hard for her to cope up with the hectic schedules and also requested them to introduce a parallel track. Talking about what exactly happened in an interview with ETimes TV, Rajshree said, “We never fought over anything and everything happened on a mutual note. I had put in my papers two weeks back and had informed the producers well in advance about my exit. We sat across the tables and tried to figure out a way that this doesn’t happen but we couldn’t come up with a midway. I tried to tell my side of the story to the production house, and I also suggested having more parallel tracks, but I had to be there in each and every scene which was not possible for me. The makers too didn’t want to shift or change the storyline much. So in the end, I had to quit.” (Pic: Instagram)

Diya Aur Baati Hum fame Deepika Singh had a fallout with the producers of the show for not making her due payments. After a long battle and wait, they decided to solve the issue mutually. However, Dipika wasn’t handed over the whole amount but just a part of it, which is usually the case when a case is solved on mutual consent. (Pic: Instagram)
