Tanya Abrol and Ansha Sayed were at the crematorium to pay respect to the late actor Dinesh Phadnis. The actor passed away last night. His last rites were held at Daulat Nagar crematorium in Borivali around 10.30-11am.
The actor, who fought for his life, succumbed last night at approximately 12 am. He had been admitted to Tunga hospital in Mumbai. His final rites are scheduled for today, and the entire star cast of the enduring show, CID, is presently at his residence.
ETimes TV reached crematorium and got a glimpse of the CID actors paying their last respect. Tanya Abrol, who was a part of the show, told ETimes TV, “We all have to go one day. We all want our near and dear ones to live longer in a good health. Right now, we can only remember him with all the good memories. I hope and pray his journey beyond this to be peaceful. Unko moksh mile. Love and strength to the family.”
Ansha Sayed, who was seen as Sub-Inspector Purvi from 2011–2018 said, “There are many memories. We have worked together for many years. He has been a very important part of our family. We will miss him.”
Shivaji Satam, who played the role of ACP Pradyuman 1998–2018, looked emotional at the crematorium. Aditya Srivastava, who was seen as Sr. Inspector Abhijeet, stood by Shivaji at the crematorium.
Dinesh Phadnis is known for his role as Inspector Fredricks aka Freddy and had been a part of the show throughout for 20 years.

Dayanand Shetty, confirmed the news of his demise to ETimes TV saying, "Yes, it's true he is no more. It happened around 12:08 am. I am at his residence right now. His last rites will be conducted today at the Daulat Nagar crematorium. Almost everyone from the CID is present right now.”
Not just CID, Dinesh also did cameo roles in another hit sitcom Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. He has also appeared in a few films in a cameo role.
