Exclusive – Kahaan Hum Kahaan Tum’s Karan V Grover: The supervirus track was ideated in December, didn’t know Coronavirus will reach India too

Last seen as Dr. Rohit Sippy in Kahaan Hum Kahaan Tum, Karan V Grover has learnt to make poha during the lockdown. The actor, in an exclusive conversation with ETimes TV shared, that even before he could plan what to do post wrapping up the show, lockdown was announced and since then he is feeling ‘domesticated’. In a freewheeling chat, the actor spoke about his social-distancing life, KHKT’s sudden off-air announcement and more. (By: Sukarna Mondal)

Social-distancing life

Have learnt how to make poha. When you are doing all the household chores, time just passes away. I am practicing a lot of yoga. I didn’t get time to think or plan. Our show ended on 14th and from 15th lockdown started. So haven’t been doing anything ever since Kahaan Hum Kahaan Tum went off-air. I feel quite domesticated. I am a home-bound person. But this lockdown restricts all movement. I am fine being by myself. But at time I do miss seeing my parents, friends. I miss going out and seeing a movie.

Introducing supervirus scene in KHKT

It was quite a co-incidence. When the virus started spreading in Wuhan, we were discussing the track. Sandiip sir came up with the idea that we should do 15 episodes with the track. And Rohit being a doctor, finds a cure to it. So a lot of research went into it. We didn’t know at that time that it will reach our country like this.

On fans’ love for #RoNakshi

It always feels good. When a fan loves an actor or an actress, they also want to see their growth as a couple. From day 1, Sandiip sir created Rohit and Sonakshi’s characters with lot of love. Dipika and I are less inclined to social media reactions. We never discussed #RoNakshi.

5/7

When fans signed petition for the show going off-track

Fans have showed their disappointment towards the KHKT track many times. They complained that the show, which once promised to keep it real on-screen, went over the top. To this, Karan reacted saying , “The script and shot is done much before audience reacts. They react when the show goes on-air. The script is already locked two months in advance and many people are involved in it. We do try to incorporate fans’ changes in upcoming track but not for the on-going tracks.”

6/7

KHKT’s sudden off-air announcement

It was upsetting. We weren’t expecting it to go off-air and it came as a surprise. We all were invested in the project.

TV should invest in more superheroes and mythological shows

I would love to play Superman. People of all ages love to watch Superman. From a 5 yr-old to 60-yr-old enjoys Superman. The kind of characters they create – whacky and energetic and unpredictable, I love these types of characters. I love Shaktimaan and Krish in India. I think we should invest in more superheroes and mythological shows. They are very entertaining.
