Exclusive- Roadies Revolution judge Neha Dhupia opens up on trolls attacking her family for 'adultery' comment

Neha Dhupia, who is seen as one of the gang leaders on Roadies Revolution is currently working from home for the virtual live auditions. Like many others, even Neha is managing her one year old daughter with work and shares her experience about the same. In an exclusive conversation with ETimes TV, the actress opens up about spending time with family and daughter Mehr during lockdown and her reaction to the trolling that she faced for her adultery statement. On live auditions

It's fantastic that we are keeping the show alive even during trying times like these, nobody expected or knew that something like this would happen. So, it's like going ahead with the time and changing with time and Roadies has done a fine job by setting an example doing a live audition by keeping the audience engrossed and the show alive. On managing her daughter Mehr while working from home

There is no taking away from the fact that when a mother is working from home her head is always there in her child and the child always knows that the mother is there and always accessible. So, recently in the middle of the live auditions I heard my daughter cry so I had to run away and go inside and see what happened and it was nothing, it was just a call to go to the washroom. I know a lot can be managed by my husband so we plan our timing accordingly. I know the live auditions are going to keep me busy from like 4 PM to 7 PM on alternate days, so I tell my husband that he has to be on Mehr's duty when I am away for live auditions. He understands it and we are big on co-parenting and that's very important to us. (Photo: Instagram).

My peak working hours are definitely when Mehr is asleep

Being a mom even when you're working from home the family depends on you for a lot of things like 'koi khane ke liye poochega, koi saamaan kahan rakha hai..' so you always lose focus and you ahead and then come back. I have kind of cracked it by knowing exactly what her time table is and I work around her routine. My peak working hours are definitely when she's asleep and when her meal time happens luckily I have a little bit of help at home not much. So when she is eating I do my workout and other stuff because I love working out everyday. I just make sure I maximise my work time and my time as mom with Mehr. (Photo: Instagram)

Happy family time during lockdown

Yes I am having a great time. I have a wonderful husband who understands and there are high's and low's of the situations that the world is going through. The high is definitely the family time and the low is the fact that we have never experienced something like this or all the sadness that you wake up to. I wouldn't want it any other way, my most favourite people to be locked in with are definitely Angad and Mehr. (Photo: Instagram)

On being trolled for her statement

For me I feel everyone is entitled to their opinion and that's exactly what I exercised. The main thing that I said was I never stood for adultery, but if it is between domestic violence and adultery I felt adultery could lead to a breakup, heartbreak, separation , diovrce and domestic violence to lead to way more. Therefore, I took a stand against domestic violence and till now I have kept my stand very clear and this is exactly what I wanted to say. I had put out the same thing as my statement on social media. As far as being trolled is concerned I feel it's a product of me being a public figure on social media and accessible to them. One is your being entitled to your own opinion and the other thing is that you take it and get abusive towards somebody and their families and that's not cool according to me. (Photo: Instagram)

When did they decide to end the city auditions?

We all got a letter from IMPPA around 16th of March and as soon as we got the letter we called off the shoot. They gave us three-four days to return and it took me exactly three days to come back. I was in a different town in Himachal and my daughter had reached another town which was much higher. So I had to drive up for 7 hours and then drive back down 7 hours and then break my journey as it was impossible to drive from a particular city to the airport with such a small child. We were asked to return by 19th and I was back by 18th. (Photo: Instagram)

How does it feel to be the only woman standing against three male members?

It feels fantastic and it is a show that I feel very fortunate to be part of. I am a very competitive person and I love adventure, thrill and I feel competition always gets better out of me. So, I really enjoy being part of it. (Photo: Instagram)

On Prince Narula and her arguments

I really feel that the competition is there because we both are very competitive and we also understand what fair play is. So we never take that jest, competition, will to win out of the scene. It's not like we stop talking to each other after we get into an argument. As soon as the task ends we shake hands and I feel sportsman spirit is very valuable to me. I am a person who grew up playing sports and I come from a fauji background. Similarly, with Prince he has been part of several competitions, he also understands that competition is great as long as Maidan tak rakho and so we keep it till there and never drag it beyond. On male members ganging up against her

I mean they don't gang up against me. I stand apart as a woman on the show, I also stand apart the way I think. Sometimes you may feel that they are a team, but that's not true because there are times when me and Raftaar or Nikhil and I are together. Prince and me together is a rarity. They don't do it deliberately they treat me as equals and there are no gender biases at all. (Photo: Instagram)

Will Roadies see a change in the format?

I don't know. For me the most important thing is obviously the fact that it is an adventure based reality show and it shouldn't change and I don't think it will change. As far as the format is concerned people who are making the show can answer it better. (Photo: Instagram)

Joining Roadies team within two months of her delivery

For me the biggest thing as far managing as mom is that you have to just go all out and think about only the good, positive and best for your child. There was a lot of support that I had at that time one being my mother. The most important thing is that Roadies as a show and the people who make the show gave importance to my (new mother's) needs with so much respect that I don't think I would have gone for a 45 days long journey with a two-months old baby on a road trip travelling to 9 different cities if it was for any other unit. And I can say that with extreme pride. (Photo: Instagram)
