Exclusive - Urfi Javed: I was recently told by a casting director, 'Aap ko TV mein ab kaam nahi milega aap ki image itni gandi hogayi hai'

The war of words between Bigg Boss OTT fame Urfi Javed and designer Farah Ali Khan is far from getting over. Farah Khan Ali and Urfi Javed got into a war of words after the latter made a few comments on social media regarding her fashion choices. After slamming Farah Khan Ali for her remarks, Urfi spoke exclusively with ETimes TV and shared her thoughts on the entire episode and openly bashed the industry for their biasedness. She also got emotional during the interview talking about the hypocrisy and revealed how people relate her clothes with everything, be it her character, work or religion. She also narrated an incident where a casting director told her that she would not get work in the television industry as she has ruined her image because of the clothes she wears.

The hypocrisy is what really bothers me, My sh*t is sh*t and your sh*t is gold

That was so unnecessary on her part. She went to some paparazzi page who uploaded my video and without knowing anything you just started slut-shaming me. For no reason whatsoever would you do the same thing in a different way just because I sin differently that doesn’t mean you are a less of a sinner. The morale policing is so weird. Har koi aaraha hai Mujhe morale policing karne ke liye and they are not looking at themselves. We talk so much about mental health. When someone commits suicide, the entire industry comes out and starts saying we let him down as a society, we did this. Till the time the person is alive they don’t take any effort. Jab tak Woh insaan Zinda hai tab tak koi Kadar nahi hai Woh insaan ki Yaa Uske mental health. I don’t care about random people but this coming from Farah Khan Ali or someone with a known face or someone who’s doing these things herself as well, is not acceptable. You also wear bikinis and you post it on social media platform where the entire public is watching you what about that. The hypocrisy is what really bothers me. My sh*t is sh*t and your sh*t is gold.

People even trolled Ananya Pandey for the outfit, will Farah Khan Ali publicly tell her to avoid such clothes

Farah Khan Ali kept writing people are making fun of me and that’s why I should change. By that logic people are making fun of your family go tell your family members to change. By that logic people make fun of Suhana Khan and Nysa Devgn’s skin colour, these people are close to her would she tell these girls to change their skin tone because people are making fun of you. People even trolled Ananya Pandey for the outfit she wore for a birthday party, did you publicly tell her to change her clothes. No, right? then why this hypocrisy with me, this fake concern drama. As she said that she was concerned she could have personally written to me. You don’t show concern by publicly slut-shaming someone. There are hundreds of ways to get my number or even DM me on Instagram. You could have called me personally and told me how talented I am and my talent is going waste. Why didn’t you tell your relatives or producer friends to give me a movie and use my talent. She changed her narrative from slut-shaming to concern.

'When my mother is not saying anything to me why are people becoming my parent?'

Yes, of course my family read such comments and feel bad, how I don’t have a Godfather and I have go through all these things. They feel I don’t have a good hold in the industry and maybe that’s why this is happening to me. They know it very well and their main concern is I am mentally well. They totally support me and on the picture where Farah ma’am commented, my mother was with me. When my mother is not saying anything to me why are you becoming my parent, go and parent your child please. Don’t try to be my mother or my aunty.

Trolls relate my clothes with everything - By this logic they are actually supporting rape culture

I was trolled recently for the incident where the security guards misbehaved with the media. There also people were commenting on my clothes. But this logic they are hustling rape. “yeh Aise kapde pehenti hai is par toh acid attack hona chahiye, Yaa rape hona he tha”. By this logic they are actually supporting rape culture, all this violence against women. Just because I wear clothes like these nasty things should happen to me. They don’t know the entire thing, but they want to comment that it all happened because of my clothes.

Had I come in a fancy car, with 4-5 bouncers around me, I am sure this wouldn’t have happened to me

First of all the security guards didn’t stop me from entering the premises. They were stopping the media and misbehaving with them. They were manhandling them and I didn’t appreciate that. That irked me because we were called by the people there. After all this drama, the PR comes and apologises for the miscommunication. What didn’t the security guards wait for 2 minutes for the instructions. I don’t consider myself celebrity but treat me as a human. If you have invited me give me that respect also give media the respect. I treat everyone around me with outmost respect and I don’t like someone misbehave with someone else. Those guards were very rude. Had I come in a fancy car, with 4/5 bouncers around me, I am sure this wouldn’t have happened to me. I am very sure. I don’t believe in showing off. I can buy car any moment but I don’t believe in showing off. It’s just the way I am jab karna hoga karungi Abhi I enjoy going in auto rickshaws and taxis.

People made fun of her sister Sussanne Khan for dating someone after her divorce, will she ask her to change

This term distasteful is so subjective. It means you are trying to say I don’t have no taste than you. Taste means class and money. Farah can try to change the narrative now but this was not concern. What irked me the most she kept saying people comment against me, doesn’t she know how people on social media are. They made fun of Aryan Khan when he was in jail, they make fun of Shanaya Kapoor, Suhana Khan, Jhanvi Kapoor, so can she please tell them also. People made fun of her sister Susanne Khan for dating someone after divorce. I am not judging her, of course, what she wants to do, it is her life. She has the full right but the logic Farah is using on me, by that she should tell her sister also because people are commenting on her also.

I was recently told by a casting director, 'Aap ko television mein toh ab kaam nahi milega aap ki image itni gandi horakhi hai'

Industry is not ready to accept me at all. They are not ready to accept the change. Recently, I met a casting director who told me it is so difficult for you now to get work especially in television because your image is so bad. “Aap ko television mein toh ab kaam nahi milega aap ki image itni gandi horakhi hai”. What do you mean by gandi excuse me? I asked him. He told me to go for adult web series as I won’t get good work. I straight away told him that I am not going to do intimate scenes as I am not comfortable. I’ve made it very clear. Just because the type of clothes I wear don’t judge me that I will do all those things. Not that I am judging anyone it’s just that I am not comfortable with. This thing that people are relating my image on social me with my personal life is so fuc***. I don’t know what’s wrong with people. Educated people are doing this, they themselves do everything but they have a problem with me. As you can see I am not doing any acting work because of this.

9/11

The hypocrisy is what bothers me, 'Aap ke bacche joh kare its fine, when I do I become a sl**'

I am not worried about my future at all. I really believe that do waqt ka khana toh Mujhe Kahin se bhi mil jaayega. I am not really worried about work. But yes it really bothers me and I feel bad about it (she gets emotional and cries). The hypocrisy is what bothers me. Aap ke bacche joh kare its fine, I do it and I am termed as the sl**. You post bikini pictures online tasteful and I do it it becomes distasteful. Who are you to decide what should be worn in public and what shouldn’t be. I think she owes me a public apology and not just her a lot of people. I don’t care I know I won’t ever receive that right now. But 10 years down the line all these people will publicly apologise to me.

10/11

I feel bad that mere kapdo se kyu jod rahe ho mere acting ko

It’s not that I was not offered work. I was but then everything was that same intimate and bold stuff. I feel bad that mere kapdo se kyu Jod rahe ho mere acting ko…I feel like I am a decent actor and I need a chance. But don’t link these two things. My personal life is personal while I am playing a character I’ll be that. Having said that I still know my day will come.

11/11

I don’t understand why people call me anti-Muslim

I’ve openly said this that I don’t follow any religion. I don’t believe in any religion. I don’t understand why people call me anti-national, anti-Muslim. I’ve become anti everything. What logic is this. Women are born with some instruction manual and once you stop following those manual, you become a bitch. That is what is happening to me. I don’t follow Islam, the religion, I was born with. I don’t believe in it and I feel it should come from heart. You should not be forced to follow a religion. I feel nowadays people are taking religion to such an extreme situation that they are creating poison amongst themselves and on social media. Mujhe kaha jaa raha hai Islam ka naam Barbaad kar rahi hai… but tumko kisne bola Islam ka bhaar mere shoulders par daalo? I’ve not taken the responsibility to promote Islam. Ajmal Kasab killed so many people he did not ruin the name of Islam but just because I am wearing short clothes I am ruining the image of Islam.
