TV actors Smriti and
Tarun Khanna, known for their roles in mythological dramas, reunited on screen for Kaal Bhairav after almost eight years. But this time, the experience holds personal significance. The couple’s 11-year-old son, Adamya, has joined them on the show, making it a unique family collaboration.
While Tarun essays the title role of Kaal Bhairav and Smriti plays Goddess Parvati, Adamya steps into the role of their onscreen son, Kartikey. Smriti shares, “I always enjoy working with Tarun, and there’s so much to learn from him. The best part was having our son with us. It felt surreal that we were portraying our real-life relationships on screen. Each of us had a separate makeup room with our names on the door. Once there, we’d settle into our routines, getting into costume and memorising our lines.”
Tarun adds, “His Hindi is very polished, probably because he has seen us perform these roles over the years. He picked things up quickly and worked with focus. I told them to internalise the character and not just recite lines mechanically.”
For now, acting is a side interest for Adamya. Smriti says, “He’s currently very passionate about chess and takes up acting only when his schedule allows. We’ve made it clear that his education comes first.”
