Filmmaker Lakshmi R Iyer slams Desi Bling’s Tabinda and Satish Sanpal for normalising ‘cheating’; Devoleena Bhattacharjee reacts
Tejasswi Prakash and Karan Kundrra-starrer Desi Bling has been making headlines ever since its release. While the couple grabbed eyeballs after getting engaged on the show, several other popular faces from the show also caught viewers’ attention. Businessman Satish Sanpal and his wife Tabinda have been criticised for their ‘misogynistic views.’ Filmmaker Lakshmi R Iyer has now reacted to it through a social media post.
She shared her take on the controversy and strongly criticised the narrative being promoted. She wrote, “Saw a clip from a reality show where a wife said she’s okay with her husband cheating as long as the woman isn’t repeated. Stop normalising this bullshit. Stop setting terrible examples in the name of being “modern” or “cool.” Being loyal is still attractive. Being honest is still attractive. Stop letting social media convince you otherwise.”
TV star Devoleena Bhattacharjee reacted to the post and said, “Yaa… apparently the man will fall in love if he meets the same woman.” In the show, Satish shared how he loves money and the spotlight that comes along with it. He said, “Paisa khuda to nahi, par khuda se kam bhi nahi [Money is not God, but it is no less than God]. Acha lagta hai na ladkiya dekhti hain [It feels nice when women notice].”
Tabinda’s comment that grabbed eyeballs was when she mentioned, “Satish ko bahaut acha lagta hai ladkiyon ke saath time bitana [Satish loves to spend time with other women]. I was jealous, but I trust him.”
She also said, “Since I am with Satish, I massage his feet every morning. He wakes up like a prince. As a Hindu, he believes that if a wife touches her husband’s feet every morning, toh bahaut Lakshmi aati hai.” To this Tejasswi said in the VD, “Keep at it, Binda ji, per dabate rahiye, I am not doing that.”
