Nikhil Mehta and Chestha Bhagat, who received immense love and popularity on Temptation Island India are making headlines for their ugly fallout. The two made some serious allegations against one another and also made some shocking revelations. Recently Nikhil filed an ‘eleven pages’ defamation case against her. Here’s all that went down between the two of them.

Chestha and Nikhil met on the reality show Temptation Island India. While Chestha was one of the contestants, Nikhil came on the show as a tempter. They were one of the first duos on the show to get connected and later share a close bond. Fans really started to enjoy their closeness on the show.

Chestha Bhagat had a tough time choosing between Arjun Aneja and Nikhil Mehta on 'Temptation Island'. Eventually, she picked Nikhil Mehta to embark on their love journey as the show concluded. Both Chestha and Nikhil had openly expressed their feelings for each other, often sharing affectionate moments on social media.

Chestha and Nikhil, who were often seen at events together, stopped sharing pictures and videos with one another on social media which sparked breakup rumours. Fans speculated that the two have parted ways. However, the two stayed muted for a long while on the show. Rumours were even swirling that Nikhil was reportedly in a long-term relationship for over 5 years, which he not only kept hidden during the show but also concealed from Chestha Bhagat.

Chestha appeared in an interview where she announced her breakup with Nikhil Mehta. The reason for the same was what left many shocked. She said, “Upon exiting the show, I received a reality check and discovered many things that were previously concealed from me. I learnt that he had been involved in a committed relationship for five years. When I confronted Nikhil about this, he consistently recounted false narratives. His girlfriend contacted me and told me the truth, and I was shocked. We talked for three hours. In fact, she told me that they both watched the show's finale episode together. I feel the show was just content for him."

Nikhil filed a defamation complaint against Chestha and accused her of tarnishing his image. He said,

“I WANT TO INFORM EVERYONE THAT DUE TO RECENT EVENTS, I HAVE ISSUED AN 11-PAGE LEGAL NOTICE AGAINST CHESTHA BHAGAT FOR HER BASELESS AND DEFAMATORY COMMENTS INTENDED TO DAMAGE MY REPUTATION DELIBERATELY. It's often easier to blame men, and our society tends to hastily hold them accountable, even when they may not be at fault. This trend has made it worryingly simple for individuals to publicly make defamatory statements, which harm not only the targeted person's reputation but also their mental health and that of their family.” He further mentioned, “The culture of blame and defamation is not just harmful; it's also a punishable offence that urgently needs to be addressed. People must be accountable for their actions. We are quick to point fingers at others when things go awry, but falsely accusing someone can lead to grave consequences. I encourage anyone, regardless of gender, who finds themselves in a similar predicament, to stand up and voice out against any injustice they are facing. It takes courage to initiate social change. The court will now assess the facts and determine the truth.”

Soon after Chestha made an announcement, Nikhil too appeared on a podcast and reacted to the breakup rumours. He mentioned how he was in a relationship for 5 years before entering Temptation Island India. He mentioned that post-the-show Chestha was aware of the same and had agreed to keep it cordial for ‘work.’ He said, “What is there to blame when I’m ready to take the fall? I was in a relationship for 5 years before entertaining the show. However, during that time, things weren’t really going well between the two of us. Chestha was later (after the show) aware of everything.”

Chestha told Pinkvilla, "I have no clue about it. I will have to know more about it before I comment on it. It looks like a publicity stunt to me. Why else would anyone put a case against me after almost a month? Having said that, if a legal notice is sent to me, my legal team would look into it."
