From Anagha Bhosale to Aashish Mehrotra; actors who made an exit from Anupamaa mid-way

Aashish Mehrotra, a prominent actor from the highly-rated television series "Anupamaa," recently announced his departure, joining the ranks of several other celebrities who have exited the show midway, surprising fans. Many notable stars chose to exit at the height of the show's popularity. Here is a look at other well-known actors who have also made early exits from Anupamaa.

After nearly four years on the show, Aashish Mehrotra has decided to leave. He shared the surprising news of his departure on his Instagram account, where he posted a heartfelt message thanking the show's creators and the entire team for the experience. In the long post, Aashish wrote, "It was a beautiful journey… a beautiful journey of almost 4 years as your “Toshu” in Anupamaa… The character being just the opposite of who I am as a person… has made it more challenging and fun to live with.. It has been a huge roller coaster ride. But whatttt a ride!!!"

Aneri Vajani, known for her role as Malvika Kapadia (Anuj's sister), also left "Anupamaa" midway. In an interview, she explained that her character was being sidelined as the story centred more on Anupamaa and Anuj, which prompted her exit. Following her departure, Aneri joined "Khatron Ke Khiladi 12," where she captivated fans with her adventurous journey on the reality show.

Anagha Bhosale portrayed the role of Samar's girlfriend in the TV series, earning admiration for her chemistry and playful banter with Samar (played by Paras Kalnawat at the time). However, she decided to exit the show midway to pursue her spiritual journey. Her departure caught many netizens off guard, as it was unexpected for someone to leave such a popular show.

Muskan portrayed the role of Pakhi in the television show for over three years, and her character was well-received by the audience. However, when the show decided to jump five years ahead in time, she was expected to play the role of an on-screen mother. Uncomfortable with this transition, Muskan chose to leave the show. In an exclusive interview, she explained, "It's not guaranteed that I'll get the same types of roles, but playing a mother could lead to more such offers. I didn't want that possibility to increase right now. Once you play a mother on screen, it can lead to similar roles in other shows."

TV actor Sagar Parekh, who took on the role of Samar after Paras Kalnawat's departure, has left the popular sitcom. His character's storyline concluded when Samar died in an accident, leading to Vanraj blaming Anuj for his death. Sagar's exit saddened fans, and since his departure, "Anupamaa" has experienced a noticeable decline in its TRP ratings. He said, “For 3 years the show was continuously on the top, I don't blame anyone for my exit. The only reason for my exit is the dropping of TRP, it is the most deadly thing any maker would fear. There was no story, we had to shake up the audience.”

Ashlesha Sawant, who portrayed Barkha Kapadia, Gaurav Khanna's on-screen sister-in-law in "Anupamaa," shared her departure from the show. Following the time jump, the Kapadia and Shah families, along with Anupamaa, have moved to the United States, leaving no further role for Ashlesha's character. "My track is over, and I'm not needed in the storyline anymore. It's a healthy departure, and now I'll focus on new projects," Ashlesha told BT.

Tassnim Nerurkar, who played the role of Rakhi Dave, quit the show last year. She had said, “Honestly, the track was such that I was not required. Even I was keen on knowing when I would return. I’ve been given a green signal by my team to take up if I want to take up something. I will only take up a project that I really like.”

She played Sara, Barkha's daughter, in the TV series. However, her character didn't get much attention, leading to her decision to exit the show midway. The actress has also appeared in the TV series "Dhadkan Zindagi Kii."
