From being 7 years older than husband Mufti Anas to facing nasty comments regarding her marriage; Sana Khan opens up about her life, marriage and motherhood

Bigg Boss fame. Sana Khan, who married Islamic pastor Mufti Anas Sayed in Surat on November 21, 2020, recently opened up about her personal life on Rubina Dilaik's podcast. Sana disclosed for the first time that she is seven years older than her husband, Anas. She also opened out about their unusual love story, giving people a better understanding of their connection and the closeness they have. Sana also got emotional as she shared about embracing her religion, leaving showbiz and more.

Sana's emotional anecdote

Sana breaks down in tears talking about embracing her religion and her transformation, "Mujhe samajh nahi araha tha, ke main ek gharelu ladki, salwar kameez pehenke, tel lagakar college jane wali, when did I reach this shortcut and backless stage, I couldn’t understand."

Sana reflects on her childhood in a Muslim family

There were a lot of things. Being born into a Muslim family, born as a Muslim, you know what is good and bad. Every Muslim knows what is Halaal and Haraam. I knew this was not correct what I was doing as per my religion. There’s always this excitement but stays for brief. I bought my car, but the moment I got it, the excitement was over. I kept questioning myself, why am I not happy? People are seeing I am happy on social media but I was not happy.

Wanted to understand Quran after Bigg Boss

When I used to read the Quran before, I didn't understand what was written. Could read it but just because it was in Arabic wouldn't know most of the things that were written. So after Bigg Boss, I decided that I was going to get a Quran with a translation to understand what was written in it. I had that urge out of nowhere that I wanted to understand the Quran.

Sana credits Anas for her transformation

Whatever you see of me today, talking, thinking everything is because of him. I will give him 100 per cent credit. I was a good person but not this much and it has all been possible because of my husband. I was a giving, generous person but my husband made me more generous. My husband says Allah will bless you with more than you give to others. Dene se he aata hai, jis din tumne sab kuch Jama karna shuru kar diya Allah ko ye cheez nahi pasand hai… Allah harr cheez mein barkat deta hai… whatever I know in my life is because of my husband. He has been such a huge influence in my life to make me understand things.

How Anas leads a simple life

My husband’s life has been very simple. We were getting married and I remember he had only 6 new clothes in the entire year, that’s it and 5 shoes, usmein sirf do chappal. When I married him I was like, kapde Kahan hai… he had a very small shelf in our cupboard. When we got married and I used to post photos on our social media and people would ask, “aapke husband Ek he blazer kabse pehne hai..?” I was like he doesn’t have any other how will he wear a different one? He leads that lifestyle and it’s not like he can’t buy them but he likes to stay like that. When I met him, I was like sach mein Aise log hai duniya mein? I make sure to thank god every day.

On people commenting on her marriage

When we got married there were a lot of people who made remarks like the wedding would last for only 3 months, they will get divorced in 6 months and she would never have a child. Imagine people talking like that and people were making videos. Just imagine you have recently got married and you are an emotional person, this is what people are talking about. I used to cry a lot during the first few months of my wedding. I cried for the first 6 months a lot because of the comments. I was not able to handle it and my husband used to tell me jisko joh bolna hai bolne do, kya farak padta hai.

Maulana ji sent Anas' wedding proposal

A Maulana ji sent Anas’ wedding proposal to me, I was like ye kaise hoga, because my husband is almost 7 years younger than me. I was like “Tum chote ho, I am 7 years older.” But he made me understand. I always felt Maulana’s were very boring because I came from a very fancy life. I heard Anas talking about a late friend so passionately and wishing well for his soul. I asked myself do I had a single friend who would wish this well for me even after my death and I realised I had no one. That was the first thing that attracted me towards Anas.

Naming her son after Maulana Tariq Jamil

I met this beautiful motivational speaker Tariq Jamil sahab and I was really inspired by him, my husband knew him so I kept pleading to make me meet him. The way he and his family welcomed me and he didn't talk about anything like I should leave my profession or more. I even named my son after maulana sahab, I named him Tariq Jamil. I even prayed that my son has to be loving and soft like him.
