From Chef Ranveer Brar getting beaten by tandoor sariyas to Farah Khan cooking for her dadi; Heartfelt revelations made by judges on Celebrity MasterChef

Celebrity MasterChef has been entertaining fans with their innovative dishes and a fresh take on the world's cuisine. As the show has some intriguing moments, there have been times when the judges of the show, Chef Vikas Khanna, Chef Ranveer Brar and Farah Khan got candid about their early days. Here are some of their heartfelt revelations.

Vikas on his initial struggles as Chef, "When we started college, they never taught us Indian food. They always asked us to study French and Western cuisines. Humein kehte the 'Desi chefs cannot be Michelin chefs.'" (They used to tell us that Desi people couldn't be Michelin chefs; only white people could.)

He further revealed, "Every classmate of mine opted for Western food except for me, and I didn't get a job after school. Usne kaha ye Desi chef hai, desi ki toh aukat nahi hai. America gaya tab bhi zidd pe adaa raha ki Desi khane ka time aayega. And the clock changed." (They claimed I am a Desi Chef, and Desi has no standards. When I travelled to America, I was certain that the era of Desi food would arrive.)

Chef Vikas got candid about missing his sister during festive days, “Diwali has always been the most special festival for me. But after my sister passed away, I spent my first Diwali in New York—alone. Since then, the meaning of festivals has changed for me.”

Chef Ranveer Brar got candid about his initial days when he used to learn cooking in Lucknow, 'I don't know if it makes you feel better. Jaise ustadon se humne kaam seekha hai, mere peeth pe sariyon ke nishaan hai. Tandoor ke sariye. We need to get ruthless with you all as well, warna gaadi aage nahi badhegi.'

Farah Khan got candid about what made her begin cooking, "I learnt cooking from my dadi, she was very old and we used to live in a small house. She had turned partially blind due to age, so she would make mistakes in cooking, looking at that, I decided to help her with cooking. I would cook the meal in the morning before going to college. We would make food just one time and eat it for lunch and dinner."
