From Dipika Kakar to Dimpy Ganguly: TV actresses who suffered miscarriage

Many TV actresses have embraced motherhood recently and are enjoying every minute of it. However, pregnancy comes with its own sets of struggles and obstacles. Some women also go through pregnancy complications and even miscarriages. These TV actresses had miscarriage and were open about it. Dipika Kakar and Shoaib Ibrahim welcomed their baby boy in June this year and enjoying parenthood to the fullest. However, they revealed that they were a bit hesitant to make the announcement as Dipika experienced miscarriage last February when she was 6 weeks pregnant. This time the two took their time and announced their first child’s pregnancy in January.

Dimpy Ganguly, who was married to Rahul Mahajan at the time had suffered miscarriage in 2011. She was only a month into her pregnancy when she faced this. The actress revealed that it took her a long while to get over the miscarriage and recover from it. Dimpy is now hitched to a Dubai based businessman Rohit Roy and has three beautiful children.

Nisha shocked everyone when she admitted that she had gone through miscarriage twice. She opened up about her first miscarriage shortly after accusing estranged husband Karan Mehta of domestic violence. Nisha spoke about her second miscarriage in reality show Lock Upp. She added, “I got married in 2012 and had a miscarriage in 2014. The baby was 5 months old. I was in a physically and mentally abusive relationship. As a woman, I was going through a lot of things. There were many instances of abuse I was going through at that time. Being a public figure, I couldn’t share it with anyone. I had no support. I was going through a lot of trauma.”

Another TV actress, who miscarried is Ankita Bhargava. Ankita and husband Karan Patel revealed the news of their pregnancy in 2018. However, Ankita suffered miscarriage after four months into the pregnancy. She was heavily trolled post-that as the miscarriage happened shortly after she made a public appearance. Later, after delivering Mehr, she opened up on the situation and said, “It was only when I got badly trolled after I miscarried was when Karan lost his calm and made multiple posts about the ugly trolling happening.”

Vikas Manaktala told Archana Gautam in Bigg Boss 16 that his wife Gunjan miscarried their first baby. However, Archana used the information against him during a fight. Vikas wasn’t quite happy with it and spoke to Shalin about the same. He told him, “I had shared with her about my wife's pregnancy and how my parents were happy that we had conceived but unfortunately she suffered a miscarriage. My parents would be watching and what they must be thinking." He had also asked Shalin Bhanot to pray so that they conceive soon.

Mahhi was pregnant with twins in 2019. However, she suffered miscarriage and lost one of the babies. Mahhi revealed praying to God atleast be able to have one of the babies and had Tara during the time. She spoke about her IVF journey and miscarriage and said, “ In IVF, there are chances of having multiple babies. Our Taru was A+ and the other baby was A. The baby couldn’t survive. The doctors said it was good that it’s leaving because most of the times it leaves along with the A+ baby. I was praying that it’s not our fate to have them both but atleast one should be with us.”

Nisha Rawal opened up about her miscarriage to Karanvir Bohra in reality show Lock Upp. It caused him to talk about the similar experience that he and Teejay faced. He revealed that Teejay faced miscarriage before the delivery of their third baby, Gia. He said, “Before Gia, we lost a baby during Covid. We were so scared to not tell anyone about it because we didn't want people to say 'Arre yaar ye kya hogaya, kaise ho gaya, kyun ho gaya'. Maybe to protect ourselves we didn't want to say. We had to lie from our own family, from our own relatives. At that point we felt we lost emotional well-being, mental health.”

Mom-of-two Debina Bonnerjee has faced a lot of complications and even a miscarriage before finally embracing motherhood. The actress has been open about facing a lot of trauma to get pregnant and have a child. She had a miscarriage before she started with IVF. Debina told ETimes TV, “I was doing a lot of things after Lianna’s birth and then the doctor told me to put my life on second gear and slow down. Hence, I informed her. I wanted her support to rest my body. My mom was so thrilled. She was constantly with me throughout my IVF journey. When I had a miscarriage, she was also with me.”
