From his audition getting rejected to having no place to stay; Terence Lewis reveals Raghav Juyal's untold story behind his journey in Dance India Dance 3

Terence Lewis has been a renowned name in the TV and Bollywood Industry for his choreography and stunning skills at contemporary dancing. In the recent podcast with Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiyaa, Terence got candid about how Raghav Juyal bagged Dance India Dance.

I went to America to learn dance and after honing the skill I came back and started my institute. In two years, I had Shakti, Punit, and Raghav and all are from there. Raghav had his own dancing style and I had taught him other dance forms. Raghav was actually in another show where I was judging and he came second in that show in a group.

Raghav told me, 'Suna hai kya aap DID 3 kar rahe ho. Meri baat chalao na'. I told him that I wasn't someone who held an influence there, but helped him to get into the audition so that he didn't need to wait in line. But Remo and Geeta didn't like his performance, I was confident about him but they weren't.

They didn't select him. I tried to convince everyone to take Raghav. I told them that he was someone hatke, but they weren't agreeing. Aur tab meri chalti nahi this. I was the youngest. So then they didn't select Raghav. The audition happened and they denied it.

Later Raghav came backstage and told me, 'sir, galat hua mere saath'. I said, 'beta mere haath mein nahi hota hai. There are a lot of people who discuss on who will participate. Not just me. They thought you won't be able to go long in the show.' Raghav then said, 'koi nahi, mujhe bol raha hai aap afsos mat karo.'

Raghav then asked me where was I going and I told him that I was going to the rehearsal hall and I had to set up my team for the show. So I told him to go home and he insisted on coming with me. Raghav was like, 'Sir aapko assistant ki zarurat padegi.' I then took him to the studio and at that time Shampa and Berty were my assistants. I asked Berty if we should take Raghav in the team and he agreed. Raghav excitedly told us that he would help with the two Hip-hop contestants in the team.

After the rehearsals, we were packing up to go home. It was my own studio, and Raghav asked me if he could stay in the studio. I took him home because he had no place to stay. So for a few weeks, he stayed at my place and studio. And he used to help with the choreography.

Suddenly after 6 weeks, we started facing backlash from the viewers as Raghav's episode got aired and they were like 'tumlog kitne pagal log ho as judges, that you guys didn't take Raghav.' So then the channel called me saying, 'We have got to know that Raghav is assisting you, but we need him as a wildcard contestant because his audition has gone viral like Dharmesh.' People loved his personality.
