From Krishna Mukherjee to Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal, Paras Kalnawat and others: TV celebs who opened up about toxic work environment on the sets of the show

Actress Krishna Mukherjee left everyone shocked after she recently made some serious accusations against the producer of her last show ‘Shubh Shagun.’ She accused him of harassing her and not clearing her dues. Over the years several other TV stars opened up about toxic work environments on the sets of their respective shows. Here’s a look.

TV actress Krishna Mukherjee, known for her roles in 'Shubh Shagun,' has made serious accusations against the show's producers. After completing her work on 'Shubh Shagun,' she took a break from television. Krishna recently took to Instagram to share distressing details about her time on the 'Shubh Shagun' set. She revealed her struggles with depression and anxiety, attributing them to harassment by the show's producer. Krishna expressed, "I finally gathered the courage to speak out today. The past year and a half has been incredibly challenging for me. I have been battling depression, anxiety, and shedding tears in solitude. It all began during my last show 'Shubh Shagun' on Dangal TV. It was a decision I regret. I was pressured into it against my wishes. The production team and the producer @kundan.singh.official have subjected me to numerous instances of harassment. They even locked me in my makeup room when I was unwell and refused to shoot due to non-payment and poor health. They aggressively banged on the door while I was changing. They still owe me payments for five months, a substantial sum. Despite my visits to the production house and Dangal office, my concerns were ignored. I received threats multiple times, leaving me feeling vulnerable, shattered, and frightened.”

Actress Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal, who portrayed Roshan, made serious accusations against the show's producer, Asit Modi. Jennifer alleged that Modi engaged in sexual harassment and claimed that the show's atmosphere promoted male chauvinism, leading to her exit from the series. Subsequently, she filed a complaint against Asit Modi, the show's Project Head Sohail Ramani, and executive producer Jatin Bajaj for alleged workplace sexual harassment. They were reportedly charged under sections 354 and 509 of the Indian Penal Code.

Paras currently seen as Rajveer in Kundali Bhagya, is another TV star who bid farewell to the popular show Anupamaa. He portrayed the character Samar before being replaced by Sagar Parekh. Following his departure from Anupamaa, he took part in the dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 10. Amidst much speculation and gossip, he disclosed that many Anupamaa actors wish to leave the show, but not everyone can afford to take that risk. He mentioned, "Honestly, 80% of the cast would want to leave if given the chance. Not everyone has the strength to take risks and fight for what is right."

Shailesh Lodha, who played the role of Taarak Mehta, also made waves in the news. He had been a part of the show since the beginning but decided to leave in April 2022. The actor's relationship with Asit Modi, the show's producer, became strained over time. Lodha accused Modi of behaving inappropriately towards him, pointing to an incident during a stand-up show called 'Good Night India' in 2022 that displeased Modi. Despite continuing to work on the show, Lodha claimed that his payments were not made. As a result, he took legal action against Asit for unpaid fees and sought help from the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) after attempts to resolve the matter with the show's creators were unsuccessful.

Monika Bhadoriya, known for her role as Bawri in the show, raised concerns about mistreatment from the show's creators. She exited the series, citing insufficient compensation and mental distress caused by the show's producer, Asit Modi. Bhadoriya mentioned that she was subjected to such a level of mistreatment.

Priya Ahuja Rajda, who earlier played the role of Rita Reporter was extremely upset and hurt as the makers of the show never responded to her messages or calls and have now replaced her with another actor on the show. Talking exclusively to ETimes TV, Priya Ahuja Rajda called Producer Asit Modi unprofessional for not acknowledging and responding to her messages. She said, "I wasn't aware that I was getting replaced on Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. Nobody from their team reached out to me that I'm not a part of the show. In fact, I'd messaged Asit bhai on May 5th asking if I am still a part of the show and I did not get any response from them. Later, May 17th, 18th I messaged Sohil Ramani, Asit Bhai again that you guys have been really unprofessional and because of that attitude, I have not heard from you guys since the last 8 months and neither you guys have replied to my messages.”
