From relishing cream rolls and puchkas to trying to make chits in exams; Debina Bonnerjee relives her childhood days in Kolkata

Debina Bonnerjee gets candid about her childhood and shares how Kolkata has been extremely special in her life. She said, "It's your childhood that frames you up. It decides what you will be in the future. I have grown up with limited things but I was dedicated. A little bit of strictness and restriction has groomed me. Let me show you Kolkata through my eyes. I am going to explore some places that I haven't been to for 20 years."

My school has changed a lot

Debina stands outside her school, "SAIE, my school has changed a lot. I am super excited to be here. My school time used to be 6:30 am. I used to love coming to school. I would hide from Mom if I was unwell and go to school, I would never miss school. Only when she would force me to take a leave due to my health, would I skip that day. I was a very dedicated student so studying wasn't a struggle."

Debina's favourite cafe and restaurant

The next stop was Debina's favourite eateries in the town. She took her fans to Flury's which has been one of the oldest coffee shops or cafes in town. Debina relishes the cream rolls of the cafe and then heads for a scrumptious meal at her favourite restaurant. Her mother used to take her to this place to have their authentic kebab dish, Chelo Kebab which had kebabs, buttered rice and more.

When Debina tried to make chits to cheat in an exam in college

Debina shared how she made a failed attempt to cheat in exams, She said, "I was in college and I thought of making chits for my Economics exam. I studied science till my 12 grade so I didn't understand Economics well. I started making chits and while writing I started memorizing what I wrote. Later I threw the chits and decided to study as I could easily memorize my answers."

Street shopping and street food

Debina shared the shops she used to shop from in Childhood, "This is in Shyambazar's Haathi Bagaan. We also called it a town school where all these shops are open. These are more like stalls from where I used to shop for everything in my childhood. And if you are in Town school then you have to relish the street-style puchkas. Apart from that there are aloo chaps and begunis. Mom used to make me eat them in childhood.
