From selling newspapers and milk packets to being a part of Khatron Ke Khiladi 13: Birthday boy Shiv Thakare’s inspiring journey

Shiv Thakare has turned a year older and is celebrating his birthday today (9 September). Shiv won hearts of people from across the nation and is now a household name. However, his journey hasn’t been easy. The reality show star has had tough times and faced difficult financial problems before entering the industry. On his birthday, let’s take a look at his inspiring journey..

Reality show debut with Roadies

Shiv made his reality show debut with Roadies. He auditioned for the show and impressed all the gang leaders. He didn’t only show his skills, but also shared his hardships in life and where he comes from. The gang leaders were impressed and pitched him to be in their gangs. However, Shiv chose to be in Rannvijay’s gang. He said that he had promised his mother to be in his team if he got selected. This also made Rannvijay extremely emotional. Shiv was one of the semi finalists of the show.

When Shiv worked with his dad with his pan shop and sold milk

The reality show star belongs to a simple Marathi family from Amravati, Maharashtra. He saw many financial issues in life and even lived in slums. During his Roadies audition, he revealed that there was a time when he used to help his father at his pan shop. Shiv has also sold newspapers and milk packets to add to the income and support to his family. His elder sister also helped him with the same.

Entering Bigg Boss 16

The next reality show that he entered was Bigg Boss 16. It was then when he started to gain popularity from all around the country. His calm behaviour and strategies for the show kept him till the end. He was one of the top contenders of the show. Shiv was also the first runner up of Bigg Boss 16.

Winning Bigg Boss Marathi 2 title

Roadies was a stepping stone for the reality show star. He was approached for Bigg Boss Marathi after Roadies and Shiv participated in the show. He impressed everyone with his smart moves and took home the trophy.

Khatron Ke Khiladi 13 journey

Entering Khatron Ke Khiladi was always a big dream for Shiv and anyone who has followed him for long on social media would know about it. Shiv took up the show and challenged his fears and limits. His journey on the show is being loved by the audience. From daredevil tasks to fun banters with co-contestants, Shiv is always a treat to watch in KKK 13.

Becoming a dancer

Shiv worked at his dad’s pan shop but later decided to use his dancing skills to earn money for the family. It was after this that his family shifted to a slightly better place from a slum. Shiv used to teach dance to the kids in his area and earned between Rs 10,000 - Rs 22,000. He opened up about the same during his Roadies audition. Shiv said, “I give money to my family and also work on myself. I have also kept some money aside for my sister's wedding.”

Building a fandom and gaining love from the celebs

Shiv had many celebs standing by his side when he was inside the Bigg Boss 16 house. He built a massive fandom of people on social media with millions of followers. He started to receive immense love and support from the people. Many celebs Rannvijay Singha, Prince Narula and others have constantly supported the reality show star.

Becoming an entrepreneur

Not many know that Shiv also has two business. He opened up his perfume brand in 2021 and a food joint in 2023. His success is seeing great heights and the reality show star has made a special place in audience’s hearts.
