Dipika Kakar, who underwent surgery in June for stage 2 liver cancer, is currently in the recovery phase. She recently began her targeted therapy and is following several precautions recommended by her doctors. In a new vlog, Dipika opened up about the possible side effects of the treatment and the steps she’s taking to prevent them. ​Targeted Therapy side-effects

Dipika started the vlog by welcoming her fans and revealed she started her ‘Targeted therapy’ from July 10th. In the therapy, she has to take a pill orally and she did not feel any side-effects after the first day. She further revealed that she is following all the precautions suggested by the doctors. She mentioned that her doctors have asked her to stay hydrated, have meals time to time even if she is not hungry. (Dipika Kakar Vlog)

​Precautions after Targeted Therapy

She needs to keep her body well-nourished, especially her palms and feet. Even though she’s not fond of applying lotions, she has to use them regularly to prevent ulcers or peeling skin in those areas. The Sasural Simar Ka actress also shared that her doctors mentioned she’s fortunate the weather isn’t too sunny right now — otherwise, she would have been asked to wear gloves to protect her hands. ​Dipika's mom gets emotional

Dipika showed an emotional moment of her mother which she had returned home just after her surgery. However, she couldn’t post it. Dipika stated that the video is a heartfelt message of her mother for her fans. In the video, Dipika’s mother thanks her fans and well-wishers who prayed for the actress’ health. Sharing the video from June 15, Dipika revealed that her mother wanted to thank everyone. In the video, Dipika’s mom said, “Aap logon ka haanth jod ke dhanyavaad, ye aap logon ki dua se wapas aayi hai.” (Dipika Kakar Vlog)

​Dipika's mother says she was scared for her daughter

Speaking in the video, Dipika’s mother got emotional and urged everyone to keep praying her daughter. “Aap sab ne dua ki aur aaj ye mere saamne hai, main toh bahot darr gayi thi, ke pata nahi meri beti ko kya hogaya. Par itni himmat waali hai na ye, aur Ruhaan usse bhi zyaada himaat waala. Usne bhi bahot adjust kiya. Aur Shoaib ka toh kya he bolun woh toh lakdi ban gaya, din raat uske saath saath raha. Main phone karrti thi Shoaib kha le kuch aur bolta tha nahi mummy jab woh wapas aayegi tab khaunga. Aap sabka saath raha, ek maa ki binti hai.” (Dipika Kakar Vlog)

​Dipika praises her mom

Dipika praised her mother for how beautifully she managed everything in her absence. She said that everyone was scared but her mother took care of everything. Dipika mentioned that her son Ruhaan is very close to her mother after her and her mom was with him full time. However, Dipika’s mom credited the entire family. (Dipika Kakar Vlog)

​Second day of 'Targeted therapy'

The Kahaan Hum Kahaan Tum actress also shared few clips from the second day of her Targeted therapy. She revealed that she was all fine till afternoon but she started feeling low by evening. She couldn’t do anything and so decided to rest well. (Dipika Kakar Vlog)

​Dipika and Ruhaan twin in matching night suits

Dipika then shared adorable mother-son moments in the video. In her vlog, she revealed that she ordered a matching night suit set for Ruhaan and herself which has Micky mouse print all over it. The actress showcased the struggle of a mother to make her son wear an adorable night suit and twin with her. From pleading Ruhaan to trying to trick him, she tried everything but he pay no heed to her requests. However, after a lot of request, he finally agreed to wear it.
