From Shiv Thakare to Dipika Kakar, these Bigg Boss contestants fared well in the house without any love angle

Bigg Boss is currently in its 16th season and over the past few years, establishing a 'love connection' in the house was almost becoming mandatory. Contestants believed that a love track would help them get audiences more interested in their track. So many tried to fake it too. In the current season too, some tried to force the love angle, but there were others who managed to shine without it too. Here's a look at them and others who performed well as solo contestants...

Currently seen in season 16, Archana Gautam is one such contestant on the show who has been entertaining in her own way. While sometimes she goes overboard with her anger or emotions, she knows exactly how to stay in the limelight. Archana has constantly said on the show that one doesn't need to have a partner to do well. And she has proved it.

As winner of Bigg Boss Marathi, one expected Shiv to somehow establish a love angle in the house. At one point, people felt Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia and he would get close, but they remained close buddies till the end. Shiv is among the finalists today and has proven that a love track isn't necessary in the house to survive.

Urvashi was part of season 6 and she was one of the strongest contestants in the house. By taking a stand on various issues, she impressed viewers and eventually the winners. She proved that one's personality, self-belief and confidence matters on this show.

Shweta Tiwari was known to be fierce and straightforward in season 4. That is what even got her the trophy. The actress came across as strong and confident and that got her appreciation. There was no love angle.

Dipika Kakkar was already married to actor Shoaib Ibrahim when she entered the show. So the audience wasn't expecting any love angle there. What made her different from the rest was that she didn't unnecessarily create arguments. She held her own and in a dignified way, dealt with every situation and fought whenever it was required. She won season 12.

Nikki Tamboli, who had done a few South films before entering Bigg Boss 14, got fame after she did the reality show. She was not just known for her fashion sense but also for her fearless attitude. Even though she was the youngest contestant on the show that season, she didn't try to create a love angle in the house. She didn't win the show, but managed to remain in the house till the end.

Season 7 contestant Kamya Panjabi is another contestant from the past who showed that playing solo is the best way to showcase one's personality. While her decisions and views could be different from others, she did what she believed in.

Vindu's angry and emotional outbursts were the main draw in season 3. He spent most of his time in the house planning and plotting against other housemates. But what entertained the audience the most were his weeping sessions every weekend in front of host Amitabh Bachchan.

Winner of season one, Rahul Roy charmed everyone with his personality. His approach towards the things was very different. Softspoken and not one to indulge in fights, he seemed completely in contrast to his fellow mates. But Rahul's honesty and consistency impressed viewers.
