From spending around Rs 1 crore on interiors to her 10 years journey in Mumbai; Bigg Boss fame Manisha Rani on buying a 3-BHK with her own money

Bigg Boss fame Manisha Rani has finally fulfilled one of her biggest dreams—owning a home in Mumbai. In her latest vlog, she opened up about her decade-long journey, the struggles she faced, her family’s happiness, and how she invested nearly Rs 1 crore on interiors to shape her 3-BHK into a luxurious and stylish space.

Her journey of 10 years in Mumbai

“After 10 years from 2015, Manisha will take a leap to come to Mumbai in 2025. But yes, since childhood, I had a passion. A passion for acting, a passion for dancing. And I used to think that I have to do something good, be famous, earn a name. And coming to Mumbai has always been my dream.”

Dream come true of buying a house in Mumbai

“When I finally came to Mumbai, I always wanted to buy a house. But I didn’t know when I would buy it. That was always the dream—that first I should buy a house with my earnings. So finally I bought my house. It feels like the biggest achievement of my journey.”

Her proud parents

“My family is very happy. My father has told everyone in the whole neighborhood. My daughter has bought a house in Mumbai. We live in a joint family where four brothers stay together. But I bought my own house in Mumbai with my own money. They are very proud of me, and that makes me emotional.”

Recalling early struggle days of living in Mumbai

“I have changed a lot of houses in Mumbai. Before Bigg Boss, I lived in Oshiwara in a 1BHK. During rains, water used to drip inside from the ceiling because I was on the 5th floor in that building. I used to sleep holding a bowl in my hand so that I don't get a splash of water on my face. I used to get worried. I would keep cleaning it. Those days were tough, but they remind me how far I’ve come.”

What goes into the making of the house

“In making a house, there is stress in everything. Finalizing an interior designer, choosing tiles, lights, sofa colors, bathrooms—it takes constant attention. Every day I get calls from the designer, even while shooting. No matter how much money you give, unless you, as the owner, are fully invested, the work doesn’t move. It’s a continuous process that needs patience and vision. My life has been like this for 2-3 months. Every 2-3 hours of my life I have to deal with my interior designer.”

Her dream of turning the house into a luxurious bungalow

“I have to make my house luxurious, like a bungalow. Because I am going to be the queen of this house. This queen’s empire is being made, and I’m very excited. I’m giving so much time and effort into it. For me, it’s not just a house—it’s a palace I always dreamed of.”

Enjoy the process of making a house

tough to make a house, but honestly, I am enjoying this process a lot. I now know the price of cement, tiles, and materials. From Bihar to Mumbai, my journey has been big, but now I finally have my own home. I have had a full on experience. My house should be my safe zone, where we can live our life. That peace will only be found when everything in the house is standing on the right base. And dad always used to say, ‘That if the foundation of the house is strong. Then everything will be fine.’”

Discussing the interiors of her dream house

“My house is 3BHK. I didn’t want any single color in any room because as content creators, we need different backgrounds. I have three unique room themes and even my three bathrooms are in red-maroon, black-grey, and all-white styles. This way, every space doubles as a content background too, while giving my home a stylish and modern vibe. Even the living room is kept separate.”

10/10

Approximate cost of her interiors

“Interior is under Rs 1 crore. Honestly, we are doing very less collabs—only one or two. Mostly, it’s full investment with our money. Because I want my house to look like a 5-star hotel. The budget given was Rs 80–90 lakhs, but I added around Rs 10 lakhs more to ensure it turns out exactly as I imagined.”
