From wearing Nani's gold 'kada' to feeding orphans and animals; Payal Rohatgi and Sangram Singh's grand wedding preparations

Lock Upp fame Payal Rohatgi and wrestler Sangram Singh are all set to tie the knot on July 9. The wedding will take place in Agra with all the rituals that the couple has planned. Along with her temple jewellery, Payal is going to wear her grandmother's gold bangle. Talking to IANS, Payal said, "My Nani, I loved her. She has given me her gold kada which I am going to wear with my wedding jewellery. She was a sardarni." She further added, "It's a really beautiful kada and the design on it is amazing. I am going to miss her on my big day a lot, as she is not around. So I am going to wear her gold kada in her memory, as a blessing from her." (Photo: Instagram)

Sangram and Payal plan to feed 200 animals, 100 orphan children and plant 100 trees on their wedding day. Sangram Singh shared, "It is the most beautiful and auspicious day to do something for nature and humanity. There could not be a nobler beginning for this sacred relationship, where we, on the day of marriage, share our bliss with the world. We need to pay back to nature as everything we receive from her whether it is air, Water, Earth... Everything is free and we truly don't deserve this benevolence as human beings." (Photo: Instagram)

Last month, Payal and Sangram got all decked up for wedding photoshoot. The two got romantic as they shot for a special video. Payal wore a lovely pink saree and Sangram sported a tradtional blue kurta. Later, Payal slipped into a black off-shoulder gown while Sangram looked handsome in a white shirt and black denim. The couple went for a grand wedding photoshoot ahead of their big day. Speaking of which Payal told ETimes TV, "The pre-wedding shoot was done to prepare Sangram ji for the wedding. That’s how it works because you have to prepare the pehelwan (wrestler) to get married (laughs). The pehelwan is very happy to do wrestling but for marriage, I’ve to prepare him." (Photo: Instagram)

It's a first for the couple and so they are all set to have several pre-wedding ceremonies and rituals. Payal told us, "The wedding will take place with all the rituals. We are going to have a puja, mehendi ceremony, chooda rasam, mata ki chowki, haldi and sangeet. I am getting married for the first time so I am going to experience all the rituals that normally happen during the wedding." The couple has been together for 12 years yet did not get married for so long. Talking about it, Sangram said, "The plan had to be suspended twice because we suffered the loss of our dear ones. I always knew that I wouldn’t get a partner like Payal and it was only a matter of time before we got married. Neither Payal nor her family has ever forced me to take the plunge. Payal and Sangram met while shooting for the reality show, Survivor India, in 2011 when they both fell in love with each other.
