Haarsh Limbachiyaa says marrying more successful Bharti Singh initially felt ‘ajeeb’: ‘Had to reach her level some way’
Television couple Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiyaa are widely loved for their impeccable comic timing and hosting skills, and have successfully made a strong mark in the reality show space. The couple recently appeared on Neha Dhupia and Angad Bedi's YouTube show, Double Date. During the chat, Bharti and Haarsh spoke about how their love story began and also shared the kind of judgment and criticism they faced during the initial phase of their marriage.
During the chat show, Haarsh Limbachiyaa was asked if people judged their marriage because Bharti Singh was already famous while he was not well-known at the time. Responding to it, Haarsh said, "Yes, it was there, a lot. If you are marrying a girl… society says that the man should be more successful than the woman. No one has an issue with that. But when a woman is more successful than a man, people find it strange.”
Haarsh went on to share that even he felt a little uncomfortable about it in the beginning. But with time, he chose to work harder, improve himself, and create his own identity in the industry. He said, "I also used to feel a bit ‘ajeeb (uncomfortable)’ earlier, but then I felt that I don’t have to do anything except keep making my work better and grow. I was getting paid really well as a writer, but I still ventured into production because I thought becoming a producer would at least help me reach her level in some way. Then I started creative direction as well. I almost wrote and created the show Comedy Nights Bachao. After that, I gained the confidence that I can also do something.”
Talking about Haarsh and Bharti's love story, the couple first met on Comedy Circus where the former worked as a writer for the comedienne. He initially used to write scripts for Bharti Singh, and over time, their friendship blossomed into love. After dating for some time, the couple got married in a lavish three day wedding ceremony in Goa in 2017. They became parents for the first time in 2022 with the birth of their son, Laksh. Bharti welcomed their second baby boy in In 2025. They have named their second son Yashveer. The couple often shares moments from their personal life through their daily vlogs on their YouTube channel.
