Kaun Banega Crorepati 16: Contestant Rakshinda Alvi reveals she suffered from kleptomania; host Amitabh Bachchan asks 'Abhi toh theek hai na aap?'
In the latest episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 16 started with roll-over contestant Ritika Singh, who works as a heathcare journalist and anchor in Delhi. During her time on the hot seat, the young contestant was seen teaching host Amitabh Bachchan the Gen-Z terms used for dating. From Bread Crumbing, Benching to Ghosting, Big B learnt everything about Gen-Z slang and was left confused. The contestant decided to quit the show and took home Rs 6,40,000. After she made an exit, Big B played Fastest Finger First and Rakshinda Alvi from Delhi took the hot seat. She got emotional upon her selection and revealed that it took 14 years to reach the hotseat. Big B like a true gentleman offered her tissues.
Rakshinda shares that she has been trying to get on the show since 2010 without a non-stop. She works for the Home Ministry and politely asks Big B if she can introduce herself in the form of shayari (poetry). After delivering a beautiful piece of shayari, Big B responds with one of his own and then asks her about her plans for the evening. The two engage in a delightful conversation entirely in shayari, and at one point, the host recites his famous lines from Kabhi Kabhie. The studio audience erupts in cheers for Amitabh Bachchan as he delivers the iconic verses, creating a special moment for the contestant. He then asks KBC team to arrange tea for Rakshinda and him. Host Amitabh Bachchan serves tea to Rakshinda and they chit chat over a tea.
Big B starts the game and reads out the question for Rs 1000. In which of these would you find items like bandages, gauze roll, thermometer, and antiseptic wipes? She slects Option C) First Aid Box.
After answering the next few questions correctly, she faces the question for Rs 10,000. The Umrah Visa is a type of visa issues by which Asian country? Rakshinda selects Option C) Saudi Arabia and it is the correct answer. The contestant
The contestant then moves on to the 'Super Sawaal'. The question is: "What is the name shared by the currencies of Pakistan and Sri Lanka?" With confidence, she answers "Rupaya," which turns out to be correct. As a result, she earns the superpower of 'Dugnastraa,' doubling her future winnings and adding to her excitement. Big B gifts her a sponsored gold coin.
As soon as host Amitabh Bachchan presents her the gold coin, Rakshinda reveals had he not gifted her the coin, she would have lifted it. She says, "Accha hua sir ke aapne mujhe ye khud se de diya warna der saber main usse utha he leti nazar bacha ke." A shocked Big B asks her what made her say so.
Rakshinda candidly shares her experience with kleptomania, saying, "Sir, actually mujhe kayi saal kleptomania ki bimari rahi hai. Bas ek urge hoti thi ki koi bhi samaan utha lo.. usmein main apne aap ko bahut accha mehsoos karti thi ke maine duniya ki nazar bacha ke kuch utha liya. Aur cheezein bahut choti moti hoti thi.. lekin woh jo ek ehsaas hota tha ke dekho logon ki nazar bacha ke kuch utha liya. Sir, maine kayi saal iss bimari ko jhela hai."
Mr. Bachchan, quick to respond with humor, asks, "Abhi toh theek hai na aap?" He then glances at his hands and rings, jokingly adding, "Ab tak toh hum sahi salamat hain." The light-hearted exchange leaves the audience in splits.
Rakshinda shares that she has been cured and has been doing well for the last 15 years. She adds, "My husband helped me a lot. He would accompany me everywhere and keep an eye on me to ensure I didn’t lift anything."
The hooter rings and show comes to an end. Rakshinda becomes the rollover contestant for the next day.
