Exclusive: Krushna Abhishek on the success of The Kapil Sharma Show, bond with Kapil and fight with mama Govinda

Krushna Abhishek, who is currently winning accolades for his role of Sapna in The Kapil Sharma Show, has returned with the latest season of OMG! Yeh Mera India. The actor in an exclusive conversation with the TimesofIndia.com spoke about the success of her character Sapna, his bonding with Kapil Sharma, their TKSS team and his fight with mama Govinda. I like when I receive such compliments but I never let it go into my head. I am thankful that people have loved and accepted my role of Sapna. I don’t let it affect me neither I start thinking that I am running the show. I have not started thinking that I am God. These compliments make me realise that I have to work harder. We have so much positivity on our set. We, including Kapil and Bharti, enjoy so much while working that we don’t discuss about the past. We never discuss what happened earlier or what they did earlier, we don’t discuss these things at all. Whatever was destined to happen, it happened now whatever is happening is also good and better. We are not saying this but the TRPs and fan following are saying. I would like to thank god for it and we all are very happy with the outcome of our hard work. I was very nervous and scared on the first day when I was going to enact the character of Sapna. Kapil also worked a lot on this character with me. When it comes to comedy, his sense is very strong and he observes small things and that’s the best quality about him. We learn a lot while working with each other. Individually we are stars, but just like students, we learned a lot from each other too. You must have visited our sets and seen how we work so hard on our gags. We rehearse a lot and Kapil gives his inputs. We have a fabulous director Bharat Kukreti. He has been with us since Comedy Circus. Bharat, Vankush Arora and Kapil Sharma had a major role to play in creating Sapna. Luckily, it hit a bullseye and became popular in no time. I am thankful to fans and these people.

There have been no ego hassles between Kapil and me. In fact, there has been no ego problem ever. I visited his place two months before the second season of TKSS began and there was an ice-breaking moment. We never had any personal issues with each other. It was just because of a few media reports people thought that we had problems but there was no personal rivalry.

I have always said that we don't have anything against each other. The man (Kapil Sharma) has potential and he is blessed. He has taken entertainment to the next level. You have to appreciate his mind and the talent he has got. He is a lethal combination of talent and intelligence. So many people are earning because of him and making money. I always see we don't have an ego problem. Whenever I come on stage, he offers his chair to me and stands-up, which shows how much love and respect he has in his heart for me. The love attachment and respect we have for each other is quite visible from both sides. (Photo : Instagram).

We are very excited about Kapil's baby. I have also prayed for the well being of Ginni and their baby. We all want Ginni and Kapil to be blessed with a beautiful and healthy baby. They are a very nice, sweet couple. Their togetherness has worked for them. Kapil is back with a bounce, he is doing good, flourishing, enjoying life and the show is successful. I wish them all luck. Now, when he will become a father, he will start realising his responsibilities. He will start working harder for the even more. I am very happy for him. Kapil has always been a good person, but after marriage, he has become responsible towards his family, wife. Also, I believe, he has got the correct girl, who has handled his life beautifully. Ginni is a wonderful person for him. She respects and loves us also. Whenever we visit their house, she takes care of us like a family. His brother Ashok, mother they are good human beings. I had attended Kapil's wedding in Amritsar and from there we started bonding. That was the moment when I grew immense love and respect for Kapil. Even, he loves me from inside but doesn't show very often, but Bharti, Kiku we all are like one family.

TRPs bring a lot of stress. We are happy that we have completed one year with flying colours. Now, our aim is to sustain such numbers. We celebrate our TRPs, but we don't let it affect us. We just cut a cake, celebrate and forget about it. We feel happy about it that the show is doing well, but now we have to be more innovative. We are working towards bringing new things to the show. We as actors give inputs, but the real heroes are the writers and our director Bharat sir and writer Vankush Arora. He is one of the most talented writers. The jamming that we do works a lot. Our team is just superb. Vankush is the one who gives Sapna all the hilarious massage.

I am no one to patch up. They should do it now, I will tell you why. If your child misbehaves with you at a party. If your kid pees on you, pulls your hair, what will you do? You'll teach him not to repeat and correct his mistakes. You won't kick him out of the party, or make him sit in a ship and send him to Dubai. He is your kid, you won't do that to him. I must have made a mistake so punish me, correct me, but don't isolate or kick me out of the party. Govinda mama has all the right, in fact, even Sunita mami has the same too. She has taken care and looked after us. She is a wonderful woman. She has given all of us a lot of love. And after this fight, I have understood one thing very clearly that my maami (Sunita) loves me the most and that's the reason she is angry with me. You don't get upset and angry with strangers. But I feel they should end this fight, forget the anger and just hug me. I want to them call me home, abuse me, beat me up, ask me questions but end this fight. I want this. (Photo: Instagram)
