Manish Raisinghani: Being an actor has definitely given me a certain advantage
Actor Manish Raisinghani, who has been a part of shows like Kaahin Kissii Roz, Kahiin to Hoga, Kkehna Hai Kuch Mujhko, Teen Bahuraniyaan, Sasural Simar, and Ek Shringaar-Swabhiman, among others, is busy donning the hat of a filmmaker. He is writing and producing films, TV, web, verticals. He has even acted in them along with other cast. As an actor, he is able to connect with performers better, which has helped him bring out their strong performances.
He said, "Being an actor has given me a certain advantage. I understand and respect the itch in them, that hunger to perform in those unexplored dimensions, to become something you’re not or you have never been. And when you meet actors who carry that same hunger, something special happens; you don’t have to pull performances out of them, you simply create the space where they can surprise you.
"That’s also why I find myself going back to the same collaborators. Not out of comfort, but because they’re never comfortable, they’re always chasing more.
I remember working with Rahul Sudhir as a co-actor, and later, while casting for another story, I had this instinct to flip the main villain into a Maharani of Sadak-like character. It was a wild thought, but Rahul didn’t just accept it; he expanded it. He built layers, imagined a full backstory, and brought in dimensions that didn’t just elevate his character but also thickened the entire narrative. That’s the kind of actor you hold on to," he added.
He shared that he has been fortunate to collaborate with performers like Naazneen Patel, Vikas Verma, Abdul Aziz, Sangeita Chauhaan, Jai Shewaramani, and popular influencer Instant Shiva, who have not only played their parts but also expanded possibilities in our Stories.
Manish said, "As a creator, my job is simple: bring conviction, create trust, and raise the bar. The rest is taken care of when you’re surrounded by people who are just as hungry to outdo themselves as you are."
"And honestly, that’s the only kind of storytelling I’m interested in where everyone involved leaves the story bigger than they found it. This just empowers me to adapt scripts based on the actor," he added.
